I worked at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great team members, supportive environment and wonderful supervisor , great benefits, above average pay for entry level positions in hospital (would love to return after school completion)

    Cons

Some upper management not fully comprehending the workflow of the department, thus making assumptions and making unfavorable decisions which decreased morale

I have been working at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The Institute has a lot of talented and well intentioned people that make coming to work worthwhile. The benefits are great. If you're in a good area with a supportive manager and interesting work then it's great to be here.

    Cons

Compensation is low. They hired someone to lead the compensation department in human resources who was marketed as someone who could solve the low pay that exist all over, but so far as I can see she's done nothing to help resolve the problem except talk your head off. There are too many unnecessary meetings that take away time from focusing on the important stuff.

I have been working at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute full-time for less than a year

    Pros

A lot of great benefits and the institution's goals are great

    Cons

Not much review of labs and their employees' experiences so employers can take advantage of workers who are scared to speak up when they are being overworked or spoken to poorly

I have been working at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Great benefits! 401k, comprehensive health care, etc - They hire talented and hard-working employees that go the extra mile every day - Managers are receptive, patient, and supportive - Compensation is level with other hospitals

    Cons

    - Employees get pigeonholed into a position - Difficult to move from one department to another - Over the years, management slowly got rid of incentives for employees (preceptor pay for training other employees) - Patient population continues to grow, but no additional support staff was hired to alleviate extra growth. As a result: - High turnover rate - CASS and their managers are overworked

I worked at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The benefits are great! and employee perks such as 9 dollar movie tickets, discounted parking / free parking on the weekends (if you want to explore the city w/ friends/family).

    Cons

Politics, politics/ politics. There is no work-life balance, very little support from management, no input from staff on changes--administration does whatever they want. Constant micro-aggressions/racism/ no support/ structure in human resources.
