    Pros

I was working in a warehouse movement project with Sata, a Chinese Tool branch brand in Danaher. They had US expertise come over to enhance the process and the new warehouse logistics, I learned a lot from working on site with people with more than 20 years experience in the field.

    Cons

They did not have a systematic initiation for new employees, they gave me whatever they had on spot. I felt I could have gained more experience if I knew what to prepare.

    Pros

Make some good friends and there are some great people to work with.
The company encourages good problem solving methods and encourages individuals to come up with simple solutions to complex problems.

    Cons

Long work hours. Everyone is expected to work 9 or 10 hour days and it can be stressful at times.

    Advice to Management

The company is doing well and is continuing to grow but the employees are overworked. The value of a company isn't only in the brand names they own, it is the employees that work there.

    Pros

Office culture was good, fairly laid back. DBS and 5S were good tools to have and were definitely enforced. Would work for Danaher again!

    Cons

Benefits weren't great, but better than most. Raises and reviews didn't always happen in a timely fashion. Promotions weren't always encouraged from within.

I worked at Danaher full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Strong financial health, deep pockets for acquisitions. When they enter a segment they want to dominate it. Good sense of who to buy and when. Good comp plans. Lot's of opportunity to advance and grow.

    Cons

It is run by bean counters. In all the lines of business you will find a person with an accounting background running the show. Hard to do things like innovate, serve the customer well, make good equipment and grow the top line when the people in charge are looking through the lens of a spreadsheet.

    Advice to Management

    1) Stop putting CPA's in charge of large sales organizations.
     2) If you are buying companies that have working equipment and the new models developed under DHR don't measure up, you are doing it wrong
    3) Danaher is becoming a brand in and of itself, and in some lines of business letting the companies keep their individual brands creates confusion for the customers and weakens the impact of being owned by DHR.

I have been working at Danaher full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Danaher pays well and seems to have a lot of upward opportunity for high performing employees.
True company wide culture around DBS and really accepts and implements lean processes - there are a variety of training opportunities within the company and the corporate level employees are brilliant.

    Cons

Danaher is very demanding and can be a high stress environment. Sometimes the decisions that are made are more focused on the short term bottom line versus the long term success and sometimes at the expensive of the customer.

    Advice to Management

Stay in touch with your operating company level leadership and what they are doing. I think the corporate VPs should meet with middle managers at the operating company to get a better view of what is really going on and how customers are impacted.
