I worked at Danone full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits and parental leave policy. The products are great, especially with the introduction of WhiteWave brands. Free yogurt and bottled water. Good PTO if you actually have any spare time to take it. Overall, the mission of the company is great.

    Cons

This company is an absolute mess. The only company I've ever worked for where things are so disorganized. None of the technology works, the email system is outdated and frankly laughable, none of the internal data is updated, and HR never actually hire anyone where support is needed. The computers, even newer ones, are slow and they crash constantly. The culture is decent at best - not anything to write home about. Dannon and WhiteWave do not mix from a cultural standpoint. Way too much unnecessary travel... (ever heard of a videoconference?). Some people have a ton of work life balance and travel for pleasure 10 times a year while others work 55-60 hour weeks for months at a time without taking a vacation. Morale is very low after the integration and absolutely nothing is done to change that. People are completely burnt out and expected to do 5 jobs at once. Relieved I am gone.

    Advice to Management

Don't just say you're going to fix things, just do something about it. Hire people where you need them who can actually change what's going on on the inside. Sure the products taste great and the mission is good but your people aren't happy.

I am surprised they are still in business!

    Cons

Don't get hurt or have cancer. They will get rid of you. If you aren't involved with certain clicks. Horrible conditions, nobody cares, only there for a paycheck.

    Advice to Management

I worked at Danone full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There weren't any pros to working here. The only reason I gave them 1 star is because no stars is not an option.

    Cons

Culture was awful, leadership followed "do as I say, not as I do" model
HR was completely useless in employee issues
French employees were constantly talking about how "stupid" Americans were to not buy $2 branded bottle water from France and instead drank American water
    No career advancement
I was told nothing but lies when I was recruited
If you speak against or report bad behavior of a member of the CODI be prepared to have your credibility called into question while you watch that person get promoted
I actually had a VP get drunk and tell me which of the girls in the office he liked looking at and which he didn't in graphic detail
Constant layoffs and transitioning due to bad business decisions by management
Management never held accountable for any actions

    Advice to Management

Clean house and bring in all new leadership team that will hold each other and the employees accountable

I worked at Danone full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Good in marketing and packaging the Danone brand overall.
    - Relatively good benefits and parental leave policy.
    - Danone campus is good for employees

    Cons

    - "Great Company Culture" is used as a tool to market the company - Good HR branding but it's so far from reality.
    - Chaotic management team, too much of French & European influenced, lack of diversity in terms of background and sexuality. Too many expats.
    - Secured career opportunities if you are HR's best friend
    - High staff turnaround rate

    Advice to Management

    - Do not just all "talks" but no action at all.
    - Hire good talented people and retain them; fire those who are bad, especially your management team.
    - HR should do the real work but not all talks. Don't think they ever do anything with exit interview.
