I worked at Dapasoft full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nearby shopping mall, somewhat close to highways and transit, regular shuttle.

    Cons

From a CEO babbling and bumbling about the office f-bombing about something or other to a management regime so rigid in its ability to adapt that even the most basic of ideas and collaboration are turned away. Telling anyone who’ll listen you’re culturally focused is one thing, when you run a mandated 9-6 work policy which sees many burning 8:30-7, well, there is none. 95% of the org can’t break free fast enough, the quasi circa 1995 type mixers every 4-5 months to talk shop are little constellation.

With no training, adequate onboarding or trust throughout the business, Dapasoft fosters a “hope for the best but expect the worst” workforce. Whether it’s employee roles or engaging with active business, the micro aspect of a President, a slave himself to the CEO is so incapable of letting go instead micromanaging everything and anything, crippling would best describe what the typical day-to-day is like. It was by no means uncommon to see layoffs, resignations, individuals quitting on a weekly / monthly basis, commonplace sadly.

Add to the mix a business so undeniably, unbelievably and unequivocally cheap from office equipment to technology from a bygone era, even pay is issued by cheque (between 5:30-6) making certain to suck every last bit out of individuals. If payday falls on a Friday and you happen to be away, then suck it up and hope rent isn’t due until Monday of the following week.

The real crux at Dapasoft is the indecision to make (even the most basic) of decisions leaving most matters in a palliative state. For all the big talk, Dapasoft is essentially another run of the mill dev shop that dabbles in healthcare with a handful of decent customers but sorely lacking in direction and ideas.

    Advice to Management

Do away with the current executive regime, learn to foster ideas, collaboration, and trust.

    Pros

Good projects with a lot of challenge
A place to learn different technologies

    Cons

Working at Dapasoft is like not working for an IT company in Canada but somewhere else. There is not even direct deposit on the bank, very strict on hours like always feeling you have someone looking at you. There is no social events are all.

    Advice to Management

Work to become a company of this century.

I worked at Dapasoft full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good location (hwy401 & 404), office building has free shuttle bus to Fairview mall
    Okay salary
    "Job security"

    Cons

As an IT company, Dapasoft is CHEAP. The company wants to save cost to the point that everyone gets old laptop that's half broken
At one year the year-end party is a lunch at the office lunch room with sandwiches prepared by accounting ladies (not even catering)
No annual review nor year end bonus of any sort.
Extra 1 week of vacation if you stay there for 5+ years (you start w/ 2 weeks), compare to most companies you get 3 weeks after 3 years or so
Managers always underestimate work effort, and expect everyone to work overtime (without paid) to meet deadline
The president keeps saying that Dapasoft is the best company in IT healthcare in Canada. There may be some valid reasons for the company itself, but it's more like when you consider Walmart being the best place to work (a positive outlook company not equals good place to work)
Flat hierarchy structure, that either you are employees or VPs/owners. Basically no chance for career advancement of any sort
Payroll is in cheques that are handed given by accounting ladies. If the end of the month falls on weekend, you usually don't get paid until Monday. On the occasion you get paid on the Friday before, they still ensure that you get it after 5pm, hence to ensure it will get post dated to after the weekend.

    Advice to Management

There are differences between being frugal and being cheap, and this company is definitely fall for the later.

    Cons

The worst people management. Manager only trusts the person who he likes and only involves that person in brainstorming and sprint planning meetings. It's ridiculous that you only invite a developer in all those sessions.
Everyone is underpaid. Give raise to people who check in code or reply to email at 3 am even though it does not mean they really work till that late.
Working hour is 9-6. You will be trouble if the accounting lady sees you leave before 5.
One more thing, please be honest to your client!

    Advice to Management

Please stop saying you are the best company in Canada. How can you compare yourself with Google and Microsoft? Show respect to all employees please.

I worked at Dapasoft full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

As a software developer, I learned a lot working at Dapasoft. They have great and interesting projects in Sharepoint and other Microsoft technologies. The people I worked with were great and pleasure to work with. The project managers are very supportive and in general people are like a family supporting each other to make the workplace a pleasurable place to be . I really recommend working at Dapasoft for any good and competent developer.

    Cons

I suggest more involving developers in estimation process as sometimes developers might find themselves in a situation where there are more work and short time.

    Advice to Management

create more supportive culture for staff .

Totally lacking communication and trust among team members, lacking trust between technical staff and mid layer management. One of worst team building experience I have ever experienced.

I worked at Dapasoft full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They have a lot of projects from the Ontario health care industry.
Aside from that, there are no pros at all. I would give it 0 stars rating if possible.

    Cons

They get a lot of projects but the bidding estimation and timelines are done by someone completely incompetent. Really low timelines and estimates are given and then an understaffed team is put together. The employees end up working horrible overtime hours as well as weekend (ALL UNPAID). Management doesn't care about employee workloads, only whether the impossible timelines are met or not.

Very few employees last long here as most get burned out in a year and leave. Stress level is very high. It seems like someone is leaving every other week. It's very rare to see an attrition rate like this.

Lately the company has started hiring a lot of new immigrants, presumably because they won't complain much and are easily forced to work unpaid overtime.

Office culture is bad. It's a privately owned company run by husband and wife who watch every cent. Office computer equipment is cheap and horrible. Chairs are horrible. Salaries are still paid by paper checks.

Owner and Management only care about the money earned and are delusional that they are running a great company.

    Advice to Management

You all are one of the worst management group.
