I worked at Darcars full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Great pay
Ability to build a great team

    Cons

Hands are tied in most things
Not a true general manager position
Lots of fluff in your financial statement

    Advice to Management

Let the people you hire do their job. You put them in place for a reason. If they don’t get it done hold them accountable.

I worked at Darcars full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great people to work with.
Company is growing fast and performs very well financially.
Great place to gain beginner experience.

    Cons

Darcars is a great place to work if you work in a department that is profit generating (eg sales or service). Working in accounting you don't get much in return for hard work. They offer very low salaries compared to similar companies in the region and their benefits are not up to par with the area either. You are given 6 sick days a year, 6 paid holidays, vacation varies. For the first year you are given no vacation time whatsoever, any time you take off is unpaid. 1-2 years you get 1 week for the year, 2-5 year you're given 2 weeks each year, after 5 years employment you get 3 weeks per year. 401K match is about nonexistent, when I asked them to explain it to me, they could hardly even understand it. Medical insurance is extremely high, as well. Moving on from benefits, the working environment is rather poor. There is no employee morale, every employee in the department always said they wanted to go work somewhere else, mostly because management doesn't show any recognition for hard work. Your best chance of getting promoted is to kiss butt or be a family member or family friend. If you do manage to get promoted and not be a friend or family then expect to be worked to the bone. The executive team doesn't do much, with exception to two executive team members and the work falls down the chain. Management looks down on lower employees too; making it clear that they are not as mighty and make them feel they are not as intelligent, which can be seen in the language used on employees. Overall, this is not a place I would recommend to anyone in a nonprofit generating department, like accounting, unless you're looking for experience in the start of your career.

    Advice to Management

Add performance evaluations to help slower employees and recognize hard work from more advanced employees. Also, a Christmas bonus would be nice to those not in sales/finance who already get bonuses and lavish vacations for making sales numbers. Finally, management should make employees feel they are all on the same level, they shouldn't be expected to kiss the boots of those higher than them.

I worked at Darcars full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great place to work if you like feeling undervalued. No chance of moving up is great. Like working while high Darcars is the place for you. Yup coworkers will be high and driving.

    Cons

Very long hours with little pay. Disrespectful managers that just want you to be a slave. No matter how had you work they’ll never say thank you. Even though your schedule say you’ll be working 93 hours bi weekly no chance of overtime pay. The only time this place acts professionally is when Toyota’s Express maintenance evaluator is there. They basically put on a fake show for him. As a Express tech if you don’t move within a year your wasting time.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees with respect. Start paying overtime. Move people up that finish your e module training not weed smoking techs that are your slaves. Remove current management at Rockville Toyota service or retrain them. Darcars will keep having very high turnover rate if you not retrained or removed. Darcars should start drug testing management.
