I have been working at Darden part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you're a server, you can make some good fast cash

    Cons

HORRIBLE management that does not know what they're doing. Too picky about little things that don't matter and ignore larger, more important issues at hand. No respect for their employees that actually work hard and they play favorites. The only way to get them to listen to you is if you're loud and obnoxious. If you're a good worker they're straight up rude to you. They always put you in the same section. Host stand is totally disorganized.

    Advice to Management

Hire managers that 1) knows how to talk to their employees and 2) knows what they're doing.

    I worked at Darden full-time

    Pros

Nice building, parking garage, gift card discounts

    Cons

    Cliques, feminism, politics, ceilings, disrespect

    Advice to Management

Stop acting like you want to be innovative but stifling creativity simply because it's "unsafe" if upper management sees. Also, a VP shouldn't be able to hire someone based on their personal relationship outside of work.

I have been working at Darden full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you want to get some fast paced kitchen experience it's an OK place to start. A lot of people have eaten or know about this restaurant so it looks good on resume.

    Cons

You don't make good money for the amount of work you do. I mean this place gets busy and you bust your behind each shift. Unless you really need a job find another

    Advice to Management

Listen to the employees, respond when asked a question, don't show favoritism to certain employees to the point everybody knows it. Grow up

    Pros

So many servers on staff the schedule was flexible

    Cons

So many servers on the floor with a 3 table maximum, bussers who do everything and free refills on food...how does anybody make any kind of money. Management stuck high up way above line employees, definitely us vs them. In the event of a customer issue they'll turn on you in front of the customer faster than you can believe.

    Advice to Management

Take your servers side. Period. If a customer is blatantly wrong instead of throwing your server under the bus, face it. Don't need to be rude to customer but do stand behind your servers. Or it makes you, not the server, look really bad.
