    Cons

inconsistent wages; management focused too much on individual promotions; drama

    Advice to Management

Maintain a close-knit and supportive environment characteristic of restaurant work without compromising professional decorum. GSS surveys are biased and unreliable.

I have been working at Darden part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great management team and support structure. No real side work as a server - hosts roll silverware, bussers take care of most cleaning and restocking. Flexible schedule, and an easy system in place to trade, give up, and pick up shifts as needed through the company website. Employee discount is great - 50% off food during/after a shift and 25% off for you and up to seven guests at any restaurant under the Darden umbrella. Benefits such as dental, vision, etc available to part time employees (major medical available to full time employees, as well as vacation time after a certain tenure). Partnership discounts with other companies available through website. Atmosphere is helpful - everyone runs food, service partners, etc. Abuse and yelling between employees is generally stopped by management as soon as it starts. Product knowledge and education are emphasized - new dishes and drinks are regularly prepared for employees to see and try, and info cards designed to be kept in server books are handed out/available before promotions and major menu changes.

    Cons

Still a service position - you'll still have difficult, entitled, and angry guests that management will try to appease (although I've never had any repercussions from generic guest complaints). Staffing always an issue in a restaurant - can vary from overstaffed and light hours to understaffed and heavy workloads, although my restaurant leans toward overstaffing.

I worked at Darden part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Tons of staff, flexible schedule, cool vibe easy almost nonexistent sidework.

    Cons

Owned by a Parasitical corporation that cuts corners on quality all across the board to boost qtrly bonuses for high level execs. Crazy high volume, very busy, stressful and unorganized work environment, parking ,grand prix, ghetto customers, no gratuity ( this is huge I cant say it enough), Tips go directly to paycard or bank account. long shifts and very late nights if you close

    Advice to Management

    None
