    Pros

I came here five years ago approximately with a great team which has totally changed and not for the better. Some very good and smart people I still work with make it worthwhile. Benefits are pretty good for health and 401k.

    Cons

Pay can be slightly low to market. No one knows how to achieve a raise or bonus unless of course you are in the favorites team which is very obvious. New review system makes no sense to how they are doing this and as others have said here we are 'suggested' to write positive reviews to bump our scores up on this site which was a big deal to new leadership a year ago to make it look better - when I think this is to cover up how intimated people are by new leader. I think it is showing in business results now too.

    Advice to Management

Quit faking everything, get real. Lots of talk about transparency and there is less than ever in my five plus years.

    Pros

    - Good work life balance
    - Amazing benefits, especially the 401k
    - Flexible work schedule, depending on your department and manager
    - Leadership seems to be working on improving their communication to employees
    - Many promotions come from within, and there is a lot of opportunity for advancement if you are here for more than a couple years

    Cons

    - Salary below industry average for many departments
    - Some internal drama between coworkers
    - Bonus often on the lower end of the range

I have been working at Darigold full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Very stable company with a solid future.
    Good pay and Benefits.
A surprizing percentage of employees have worked here for a very long time. Often promotes from within and has a variety of jobs available.
You can have personal pride in what you are making.

    Cons

Production workers have to sacrifice time with their families for Darigold. Working on all holidays is basically required. Weekly schedules cant be planned out more than 5 days (and still change) so overtime is problematic.
Production schedules are "Run,Run,Run!!!" so equipment is neglected until failure then pieced back together to "get it going"
Improvements are constant but even simple ones are dismally slow and often are in conflict with efficiency.
Nepotism has improved but still happens.

    Advice to Management

Follow up is the number one issue preventing most of the improvements you are trying from happening. Every project does not have to need 25 people to agree or sign off on it to be successful. That time lag results in a problem becoming a crisis becoming an unmanageable issue that drains all your attention from all the other little problems.
Just because it sounds good does not mean it is a good idea.
--- LISTEN to your employees- they are the best resource for you to achieve your goals, they can and will make them happen if you let them.
If you implement something- come back to it and make sure you are actually accomplishing what you wanted and dont need to modify it.
It is OK to be wrong, when you are- admit it, make changes quickly, and move on.

I have been working at Darigold full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The company prides itself in investing in employess. We're finally providing employees with options for development, information, feedback, involvement, and environment. As well as clearly defined goals and direction.

    Cons

Although, we're on the right path, we still need to work on being consistent. Create win win situations for everyone in the organization.

    Advice to Management

Be consistent. Keep reminding us of the strategy. Keep the engaged people and help others out of the organization.

    I worked at Darigold full-time

    Pros

The money is good, the work is constant, the paychecks don't bounce.

    Cons

Absolutely no structure, supervisors have no knowledge of operations. Lack of proper training programs to help better assist new employees. No regard to employees health or well being. There seems to be some favoritism among supervisors and employees.

    Advice to Management

I had a bad experience working for Darigold, I had worked just a few days shy of my 6 month probationary period and was let go, according to a supervisor due to multiple mistakes made that i had caused, but, could have been prevented by proper training. Was not given the opportunity of being put elsewhere in the plant to be better acclimated. Basically in a nutshell I was set up for failure from the get go.

I worked at Darigold full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The pay and benefits are very good.

    Cons

Disconnect between all levels of management and labor workers.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to stop making decisions and plans. Based on what they think or feel should be happening. Lower management is afraid to let mid management know what really goes on. So they look good or don't get told they are wrong. The mid management finesse what is happening to upper management. So they look good or don't get told they need to step it up. Upper management wants everyone to perform based on what they see on paper should happen. Not what can happen in actual practice and don't want to hear differently. If things happen to work half way decent. Management pats themselves on the back. When it goes wrong. Then it is obviously the labor workers not doing their jobs. They all need to take the time to see what is really going on, and adjust accordingly.

    Pros

    Great pay for standard workload
    Exceptional benefits, fantastic 401k

    Cons

Workload is never able to be accomplished in 40 hours
Additional job responsibilities are constantly added by management without any regard for personnel requirements to actually fulfill them.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to feedback from employees.
