I have been working at Dart Container full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great affordable benefits. Hours always available unlike others where they send you home if theres no work. Vacation Hours.sick pay and unpaid days kicks in after your 12 week probation. Good advancement depending what youre going after

    Cons

Management needs to prioritize training to new employees or new trainees. Need to take them step by step of what they will be expecting. Not just give them attention the first few days And leave them with their trainers and never get back at them and assume they are good already after 2 weeks.

    Advice to Management

Give more attention to new employees and trainees, prioritize their training step by step. And walk them week by week

I have been working at Dart Container full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very chill company, open door policy, room to grow within department and cross department. Overall great people to work with. The key to success is to work for a good manager/director and department. Some tuition reimbursement, great health benefit, life insurance, some company matching for 401k after one year.

    Cons

Short to medium PTO (start with 10 days after 6 month) and you accrue it as you stay with the company. Slow to change and get things done, if it involves other department.

    Advice to Management

The company is going in the right direction, willing to invest in new technologies but departments are still silo/segregated, more cross functional teamwork needed and enforced by upper management.

I worked at Dart Container full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Privately held, family-friendly. Deal with individuals with respect.

    Cons

Too many written communications, with insufficient guidance to employees about where the company is headed. Insufficient pay to keep good employees, especially when there is high turnover yet shipments cannot go out due to labor shortages. Not being willing to risk losing accounts in order to implement better long term policies for the company. Customers who contnue to shortpay must be moved to cash in advance.

    Advice to Management

All businesses must be willing to embrace change, however this company embraced merger-acquisition changes, without providing functional reporting tools for day-to-day visibility. Departments are too siloed and stuck in old ways. Be willing to risk some losses so better future long term policies and outcomes financially may be gained.
