I worked at Dassault Systemes as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Awesome technologie, lots of internal resources, company at large have nice initiative (women's book club, initiative for women in technology, free learning opportunities, access to Linda.com, etc)

    Cons

I landed in a team with emotional conflicts that endured for years - it derailed teamwork efforts. But other departments seems a great place to work.

Internal resources are available, but the company is so big that, at times, it's difficult to locate what/who you need to work with.

Salary for intern were ridiculous, but I was there to learn so it didn't prevent me from accepting the offer.

    Advice to Management

Do not let personnal conflit escalate for years, nobody wants to work under those circumstances.

    Pros

Very nice environnement. Relaxed, friendly. You can learn a lot if you are willing to.

    Cons

Some times the work load can be heavy. But in that case you can always reach out for help

    Advice to Management

Be yourself, people are very nice, and comprehensive. You even have a person that make a weekly follow up with you on how do you like your internship.

I worked at Dassault Systemes full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

For short term travel per diem was good, you get to travel. They pay for your phone

    Cons

Poor management. You need to speak French or align with Quebec management group to get noticed for an upward trajectory of career path.
Management employs developers as per use and throw policy. They have important project then you are needed. But you are not expected to expect decent raise for your high quality work

    Advice to Management

Stop gossiping about your developers. Talking behind back does not help. Eventually people get to know
Promote people based on merit. A front desk person should not get promoted as solutions level director because she got in a relationship with a director

I have been working at Dassault Systemes full-time

    Pros

Good heritage portfolio of technology offerings to draw upon. There are motivated people in pre-sales roles who can provide effective support. There are cool technologies to assemble into effective customer solutions.

    Cons

Navigating the portfolio to build the optimal solution for clients can be challenging. The key challenge is balancing the administrative overhead and holding together pre-sales resources in complex sales cycles.

    Advice to Management

More pre-sales resources that can work across the brand portfolio to help position solutions tailored to customers. Allow full revenue recognition for the sales people who lead and close the deals.

I have been working at Dassault Systemes full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Terrific vision with current products and how they can transform businesses. Strong focus on sustainability and how we can "engineer our way out of the mess we are in globally". Resonates well with customers and employees, as they feel they have a purpose.

Bernard Charles is very impressive and someone who is easy to rally behind. He has a very clear vision on where he thinks DS can go, and articulates it very well.

    Cons

Several layers to the go to market execution strategy that can be confusing for some reps and customers in understanding exactly what they are getting.

The company is very R&D focussed, which is sort of a good thing for an engineering software company. However, sometimes the value of good sales is undervalued, and the expectation is that the software should be "able to sell itself". Anyone who has been in technology sales knows that it's never the best mousetrap that wins, it's who can sell it.

    Pros

Great place to tackle real life problems on software engineering.

    Cons

Company is way too big that smaller departments don't have all the necessary tools or manpower.
