I worked at Data Recognition Corporation full-time

    Pros

Great place, great people. Good place to work. Lots of opportunities for promotion. You will encounter people from all walks of life.

    Cons

Seasonal employment. Work can be very monotonous. Even though you must have a bachelor's degree, it's run like a factory.

    Advice to Management

Don't allow some of the leaders to harass your bottom tier. Respect and impartiality is paramount to the continued success of the company.

    Pros

the other staff (leadership) were great

    Cons

    the management was pretty awful.

    Advice to Management

create some sort of incentive for actual work accomplished instead of butt in the seat type stuff. No incentive to make bonus other than attendance.

    Cons

Not enough tech for me, takes too long for projects to get implemented.

I worked at Data Recognition Corporation as a contractor

    Pros

Starting pay is $14/hr. $50 bonus each week you work 40 hrs or more. You can come in at 8am but not required to be there until 8:30. Saturday's and overtime available and optional.

    Cons

Inconsistent scoring parameters. Only 30 mins for lunch.

    Advice to Management

    Be consistent with scoring.

I worked at Data Recognition Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I worked full time/temporary grading standardized tests in one of the scoring centers. The training was very thorough and working conditions were good. It would be awesome if the projects lasted longer, but that is the nature of the business. Most team leads were helpful and patient. It was fun to celebrate the completion of a project as a group ~ treats are appreciated!

    Cons

There is, unfortunately, a somewhat "cliquey" culture between returning test scorers who have done this for years, and the newer employees. Everyone learns at a different rate and it's good to be respectful of what each person brings to the position. Only other real "con" is the dependability of the work load which has to be expected with a temporary assignment and fluctuating work coming in from different states.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work managing all the different needs of the employees which are constantly changing each scoring period. Everything went very smoothly regarding the hiring process, being assigned to projects and being paid correctly/on time.

I have been working at Data Recognition Corporation part-time

    Pros

Nice atmosphere and co-workers. Good pay starting at $15.00/hour, if you have a 4-year degree. If you are looking for a seasonal job, this one is good.

    Cons

Seasonal work only. Do not know project schedules very far in advance, making it more difficult to schedule any needed appointments ahead of time. No benefits and no paid time off. Amount of work available varies from year to year.

    Advice to Management

Be more open with readers about project schedules, the overall length of the scoring season, and what's going on in the company in general.

I worked at Data Recognition Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you are a quick reader, this is a fairly easy job.

    Cons

Dull, not a real job. Just sitting at a terminal all day grading kids essays which is interesting some of the time. I am apparently not a fast reader so my completion rate was lower than most.
