I have been working at DataFile Technologies full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I love working from home. The ability to flex my schedule works great for my family. I enjoy the challenges my clinic presents and make decent money working in it. My CSC and CSM are both great and easy to talk to. Over the past couple years, there have been a lot of changes with the company. Most of them have been for the better, others not so much.

    Cons

PTO is often denied due to lack of coverage. There's a lot of fear of retaliation if you bring a complaint forward. Communication is horrific. Tone deafness coming from upper management when addressing issues. Managers have told employees in the past that they're jealous of the employee's ability to work from home and the amount of money they make. There's very much a feeling...

    Advice to Management

Learn to take constructive criticism. I see several responses from HR on here to people saying they're scared to come forward that boil down to "My door is always open." That alone proves that you are not listening. These people are saying they're scared of retaliation so they went to an anonymous site to voice their opinions. How about instead saying "I'm sorry you feel this way. I will look into why this is happening"?...

    Pros

Please see below. Not many good things to say.

    Cons

DFT started as a great place to work. The concept and structure is great and the market is great as well. The "extras" were good such as the ice cream days and events. But the people made the experience terrible. Lack of respect from middle management. HR and Upper management do not care. If you are not a part of the "cool kids club" you are invisible. Internally they treat the...

I worked at DataFile Technologies full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Paycheck, room for growth - especially considering the rapid rate of turnover. Services - when actually developed - are a huge help to their clients.

    Cons

Toxic culture of blaming individuals/departments for anything that goes wrong. Instead of coaching or developing their staff, the default reaction is to place blame and rid themselves of anyone perceived to have made a mistake. This has led to a constant state of paranoia and an overall fear of providing any feedback to upper management that could be perceived as negative....

    Advice to Management

I don't know...SELL!??!!!? You've proven that you're smarter than any employee you've ever hired so there's no point in anyone trying to give you advice. But you have MANY good people and their families' livelihood in your hands so I would hope you take that responsibility seriously and realize how toxic of a workplace you've allowed to develop under your roof.

I worked at DataFile Technologies full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The job is easy. Supervisor is awesome.

    Cons

Upper management don't care for this department. They will move you if the sales team has a problem with how you answer the phones. Hell I say let them answer the call. The servicing team talk down to the contact center rep when trying to resolve getting a patient's records to them. Treat all your employees fairly. Have some structure. Stop having favorites.

    Advice to Management

    Treat all departments equally.

I have been working at DataFile Technologies full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Relaxed office environment, met a lot of great people, learned multiple EMR's

    Cons

No communication, pay decreased by $300-400 in Jan so they can increase revenue by like 47% this year so of course they cut the work from home pay, the people who are actually making you the money! We are paid cents compared to what they are raking in. Management is a joke! Constantly lied to, made promises that never panned out. Advice to Management

Wake UP!! You have such a high turn over because of the way your employees are being treated! If you keep your employees happy, they will work harder and keep your clients happy. It's a win, win! You have to get tired of training new people left and right!!! I loved my actual job, just couldn't deal w/ poor management and major pay cut anymore!

I have been working at DataFile Technologies full-time

    Pros

You meet some great people and get to work from home. The job is fairly easy to learn if you have any kind of medical background. That's it. As others have stated, the positive reviews have been written by managers that are in panic mode because they have lost too many employees recently.

    Cons

As others have stated, there is A LOT of drinking going on in office. This leads to an environment that is reminiscent of a frat house or a high school dance where someone has snuck in the booze. The in house managers are more concerned with winning a popularity contest than they are with what is going on with their employees. Communication is abysmal and often confusing (possibly because of all the drinking?). Recently,...

    Advice to Management

Grow up and get your act together. You have a great business idea here, but you're running it into the ground with the party atmosphere you've created in the office. Stop punishing your employees for your mistakes. They're YOUR mistakes. Own them. Learn from them. Move on. Also, stop treating your employees like they're idiots and your office like it's a bar. You've hired people with degrees; use them to their fullest....

I worked at DataFile Technologies full-time

    Pros

Some great people I got to know and develop into friendships.

    Cons

This could be an unlimited list of things. Upper Management specifically the 3 entrepreneurs are impossible to work with. Two came from selling MaryKay to this and are not meant to be ideal role models and/or mentors. The lack of training that is provided is "throw you to the wolves" method.

    Advice to Management

Professionalism professionalism professionalism speaks volumes and builds trust with your employees. Learn to be the mentor versus the dictator. Desperately needing to provide a professional training program and STOP picking and choosing "favorite" associates because they will go "drink" with you. Invest in your employees and you'll find your retention increases.

    Cons

-Working from home is at a transactional rating- which is both a pro and a con - many people love the flexibility of working from home, and have been able to get extremely speedy which has benefitted from the transactional rate. -Occasionally things can be disorganized and not go as expected- which would happen with any growing company.

    Pros

There are absolutely no pros to working for this company. I can assure you that any positive reviews here are written by upper management. Please don't waste your time here if you are considering a job at DataFile.

    Cons

The owner is a very greedy woman. Because of this, when the company started getting big they decided to cut a lot of employee when the company started getting big they decided to cut a lot of employee's pay. The health Insurance is terrible on they do not offer dental or vision, nor do they offer any kind of 401(k). There is a ton of micromanagement going online and the place lacks proper training. Pros

Evolving business model and continued growth. Upper Management dedicated to being the best not the biggest.

    Cons

Sometimes unwilling to sacrifice now for immediate growth opportunities. Small company that does not necessarily offer the best incentive packages or benefits.

    Advice to Management

401k availability should be a must at every company regardless of size. Employers should invest in their employees futures.
