I have been working at Datalink full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Options to grow from current position. Little to no micro managing.

    Cons

Limited support staffing. Work in progress though.

    Advice to Management

Training, training and training. Helpful to new employees to have a seasoned employee in the same position shadowing for a few weeks before kicking them out of the nest.

I worked at Datalink as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Great company to work for. Pay was good and supervisors were polite.

    Cons

Nothing I can think of. I worked at one of their clients location to support their IT infrastructure so I don't know much about internal culture of the company itself.

Not sure if CEO know where we are actually going as our main partner revenues fall, hopefully we find which route will be successful

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work, but also make sure your employees know they are appreciated

    Pros

Datalink is relatively small and still expanding. Opportunities.

    Cons

Feedback to employees limited to non-existent. Small management staff can leave employee adrift in the wind

I have been working at Datalink full-time

    Pros

This is a great place to work. They are committed to supporting the practitioners become the best that they can be.

    Cons

There aren't any downsides to working for this company that I have discovered. I'm sure it isn't perfect, but I haven't found anything worth mentioning in this forum.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing. Support those who want to improve at what they do. I can't imagine how that would render anything other than positive results for everyone.

I worked at Datalink as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

This is an excellent company with a responsive and caring staff. I look forward to opportunities to continue my association with it.

    Cons

The company could improve on its follow through with its contractors, post contract fulfillment. Not sure if this is really a "Con" or simply the way business is routinely conducted in this part of the world. Using "at will" contracts, dedicated workers can and will be 'let go' with no advanced notice (e.g., next day terminations). I prefer to view this as a normal business practice and while difficult to accept, it's more a fact of life rather than a mark against an otherwise pleasant parent company. You'll need to consider how you feel about this.

    Advice to Management

The front line account execs and engagement delivery supervisors are the best in the business! Best wishes for continued success.

    Pros

Works with many vendors and so can give candid advice to customers about the right solution for their needs. Good career development and training opportunities, good work/life balance.

    Cons

The CEO is a bit rough around the edges, but the rest of the company is solid.
