I have been working at Datto full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Datto treats their employees very well. Not only am I paid very fairly for the work that I do, but our benefits are amazing! Fully paid-for healthcare, free lunch Fridays, and frequent happy hours and employee events regularly reinforce how much they care about their employees.

They are also very invested in your growth and learning. A big part of the culture is learning, asking questions, and demanding to know the "why" behind company decisions. In the short 6 months I've been here I've personally felt a great amount of growth and career development. Management and employees are super supportive and helpful, always willing to help out and answer questions.

It's a very unique culture. The best way to describe it, we are the Google of Rochester, NY. No other company around here treats their employees as good as Datto.

    Cons

This is a fast growing company, and changes come fast. You need to be comfortable in that type of environment.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing the little things that make us unique. Don't let the benefits and culture diminish as we continue to grow. Keep that start-up vibe.

I have been working at Datto full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great work environment, great benefits, great "alternative" benefits (free lunch Friday, easy to get an awesome workstation setup (average employee has 3 monitors - you don't realize how important this is), you work with the highest quality employees around (amazing talent), management does care about moving you up - IF you deserve it. Management is very open and honest, which is rare in the corporate world. The CEO is very accessible even though he is like the next Jobs/Zuckerberg.

    Cons

Extremely high stress at times. Working with such talented people sets the bar very high, which adds to stress. If you are NOT top tier talent, you probably will not survive - *can* be cutthroat at times. A lot of competition when you do want to move up. Communication is not great, but it's a lot better and is being worked on. Although benefits are good, pay is still too low - free lunch Friday doesn't pay my mortgage.

    Advice to Management

Keep "doing what is right, not what is profitable". Create more advancement opportunities for exceptional employees.
