    Pros

    Competitive salary and decent benefits

    Cons

Low bonus potential. Self-described as a consultancy, but mostly staff-aug. Career advancement only available to those willing to work 40 hours for the client and then 20-40 hours uncompensated.

I worked at Daugherty Business Solutions full-time

    Pros

Good benefits. Good consultants. Some very good managers.

    Cons

This company is attractive on the outside, but once in you find that you were hired to fill a seat (contractor) at a client site. Yes, a handful of senior folks do consulting, but it's mostly staff aug. Don't be fooled. If Daugherty is your only job offer, then consider it, you will be working with some good people. If you are looking for a career, this is not it. High turnover, too. Leadership just sweeps it under the carpet.

    Advice to Management

Take a closer look at your leadership in the Atlanta Branch. Why is there apathy and why are people leaving?

I have been working at Daugherty Business Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits and competitive compensation. Management is concerned about keeping the consultants happy. They really attempt to create a community and overcome the challenges of all the employees being displaced.

    Cons

Not really true consulting. Most of the work in Atlanta is really just staff augmentation work.
Career path is not clear. The "part time" management structure doesn't really support career growth.
Lot of ad hoc busy work. Expectation to participate on multitude of committees on your own time, but not clear value to many of these activities.
Most training available only on employee's own time with little company support.

    Advice to Management

Better training opportunities. Rationalize the committees to ensure true value proposition. Consider a professional hr person.

I worked at Daugherty Business Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Opulent Buckhead office
All of leadership (Directors, VP) from former Big 4 (heavy on E&Y), working toward getting the career mgmt process to be similar
Local work only, with new option for travel if desired
    Salary, health plan
Great for Custom Dev (.net, java) and PM work
    Paid OT

    Cons

Lead Recruiter, a great saleswoman, is a bit misleading on expectations
Many levels, expect to start at levels below your prior employer
If you are technical manager, you won't be told, but should expect to write code.
Reality is, large amount of 'staff aug' (they won't call it that) work.
BI LOS - limited enterprise level, thought leadership BI work. Mostly DM layer work or could be anything to do with moving data around (e.g. application integration)
Directors (most) are not 'though leaders', but account executives who can sell services.

    Advice to Management

Atlanta VP needs to filled by someone with more experience.

    Pros

    Good salary
    Good Benefits
    No Travel
    Good culture

    Cons

Limited to no opportunity for overtime (10-15% was pitched during interview)
Vacation is horrible - 2 weeks for 17+ years of experience
Expenses are a joke - so many caveats make it almost impossible to get reimbursed (they make you subtract 20 additional miles for any reimbursement, just beacuse)
It is staff augmentation not management consulting
Bonus is a joke too - $17 per month of service

    Advice to Management

Be clear on job interviews, tell people what it is and what it is not (it is not a consulting company), maybe it is for systems, but not a management consulting firm

"Good place for project managers, not so great for technically minded folks (stable, but boring work)"

    Pros

    * Good employment packages
    * Good work/life balance
    * Good leadership (except company has restructured too frequently)
    * Good place for Project Managers to work

    Cons

    * Atlanta branch is mostly a management consulting practice now
    * Very little technical work
    * Projects are, on the whole, not very exciting
    * While some gigs are project based, much of the projects I worked on leaned more towards staff-aug

    Advice to Management

Focus less on management consulting, more on cutting edge project work.
