I have been working at Daugherty Business Solutions (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fun, friendly, supportive working culture. Good mix of consulting projects and industries to be exposed to.

Great zero deductible health care coverage. 25 days PTO to start (must be used for holidays and sick time) which accrues quickly and can be rolled over.

    Cons

    401k vesting period is lengthy

I have been working at Daugherty Business Solutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Try's to match skills and preferences with clients.
    Pay is very good.
Mgt. Support at the client site.

    Cons

Management of staff at client occurs on top of full client load.
May take a few months to transition between clients.
Accreditations and certifications are on the dime of the consultant.

    Advice to Management

Support accreditations/certifications financially. This could be similar to undergrad/grad support.

I have been working at Daugherty Business Solutions (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The medical, vision and dental benefits are some of the best in town!

    Cons

Company has grown very fast over a short period of time, values/missions/goals are little out of line, however, they continue to keep all their employees engaged.

    Pros

401k match is 50% up to 6% of base; out-of-pocket is between $125 - $150 per month for healthcare (Anthem BCBC). Leadership is transparent, opportunities (both internal and at clients) are readily available and visible.

    Cons

While Daugherty is a local consulting model, Atlanta's size and traffic can still mean you're working for a client two hours away (this is rare).

I have been working at Daugherty Business Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Nearly everyone is competent and passionate about what they do.
    - Paid bench.
    - No travel.
    - Health benefits are pretty good.
    - For the majority of accounts, the managed services approach provides a welcome level of support.

    Cons

    - No work-life balance.
    - Terrible onboarding.
    - Not enough PTO (the number is misleading: holidays come out of your accrued PTO balance).
    - For some accounts, the managed services approach just adds extra layers of bureaucracy.
    - Some accounts are staff aug (and generally very poorly-managed by both the client and by Daugherty).

    Advice to Management

    - Give new employees more PTO.
    - Actively work towards either abandoning staff aug accounts, or transitioning them to managed services.
    - Let actual developers design the next development center. The current one looks nice, but isn't a good environment to do actual work in.
    - Introduce real incentives for community involvement instead of just bragging about it in the newsletter.

    Pros

    1. Great consultants - you work with the best consultants in the industry.
    2. Fantastic benefits - You will not find better benefits in the industry
    3. Plenty of training and socializing (see cons)
    4. Paid bench - Very few companies have a fully paid bench.

    Cons

    1. Little work outside of Staff aug. The company is going through some growing pains.
    2. Training that's after work hours and plenty of them. If you don't make it, it will impact your year end review.
    3. Company is family owned. No clear understanding of company's future ownership.

    Advice to Management

High turnover in Minneapolis.Talk to people before they turn in their resignation.

I have been working at Daugherty Business Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

People oriented, great medical benefits, strong emphasis on work/life balance, good support structure for the consultants within the client sites

    Cons

Slow growth opportunity, long periods between promotion window, not a staff aug firm but some clients are not discouraged from hiring with staff aug intent

    Advice to Management

Some of leadership has lost touch with the business model. Need better communication to the consultants in the field.
