I have been working at Dave & Buster's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Hours aren't bad and the pay is pretty good

Management is on your side if you work hard and show initiative

    Cons

    Some fellow employees attitudes.

Can be real hit and miss in terms of how busy it gets

    Advice to Management

Get a new POS for the servers/bar staff to use. With a new system the service could be even better!

    I have been working at Dave & Buster's part-time

    Pros

Fun atmosphere, always busy and fun place to be when just want to have a good time.

    Cons

Can be stressful at times, some employees become complacent and lazy, but management does a awesome job at fixing problems with guests and employees.

I have been working at Dave & Buster's part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

As a bartender this place is busy and the tips add up. It is a fun atmosphere, great people to work with and pretty laid back for a corporate restaurant.

    Cons

But as a server, with no more automatic service charge (gratuity) for large parties, and there are a lot of them including banquets, whole location buyouts, that can be really bad, considering DnB's main demographic are young, barely 21, ahem, no money. You work for minimum wage pretty much. This is not the case all the time of course. Only 28 hour week in California (3 days ) to prevent having to pay full time (30 hours) for health care option means many Front of the House and Back of the House have other jobs.

    Advice to Management

Communicate when there are events booked

I have been working at Dave & Buster's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Amazing people, fun environment, good money, decent hours

    Cons

Stressful, long shifts, always asked to stay for extended hours, part-time means full time

    Advice to Management

Invest in employees through growth period. Company culture has definitely changed.

    I worked at Dave & Buster's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

High energy, very diverse group of co workers as well as guests, half off food, discounts on game play, decent tips, benefits available if you work enough hours, extensive and ongoing training

    Cons

Extremely high stress, long hours, sacrifice weekends, high turnover rate, fair share of rude people, vast amount of recipes to remember, constantly understaffed

    Advice to Management

Be positive, lead by example, don't sacrifice quality of service for the sake of labor cost

    I worked at Dave & Buster's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Its a large company, so you can expect there to be consistent clients and the possibility to make a lot of money. Tips are not pooled, and the environment is competitive.

    Cons

There are quite a few. Wearing a name tag sucks. The type of people who go to Dave and Buster's suck too. The location isn't ideal and when I'm walking home with a lot of cash after my shift it can be dangerous.

    Advice to Management

Incentives and rewards to upsell, fun ways to get coworkers to interact and be friends.
