I have been working at Dave & Buster's part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The money isn't bad. And it's a fun place to work.

    Cons

The clientele can get little ratchet, it's all a matter of luck in your tables. My location using what the call a scorecard to determine your section (amount of certain items shown, upsold power cards and drinks, and surveys).

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to the strengths of the individual server and not a score generated to determine who makes money

    I have been working at Dave & Buster's part-time

    Pros

Advancement is possible, room to grow
Some nice coworkers, easy to make friends
Half price food, managers might even give full meal comps and unlimited game plays
Free fountain drinks when you're working (caffeine will get you through those trying times)

    Cons

    Managers play favorites
Managers are very much hit and misses
Long shifts with little to no breaks
Customers walk all over you, wreck your store, and the managers will bend over backwards for them
They expect you to manage your busy store AND clean the back room AND bring in box shipments without any help
If you can't make good friends with the game techs, good luck getting any help or company on your long shifts
Usually alone and stuck behind a counter for hours on slow days with absolutely nothing to do
Dread going to work, sometimes crying in frustration
Expect your feet to constantly hurt. Always. Three days off? Your feet will barely recover, then you're back to work, no sitting for 7.5 hours
Oh and I hope you don't need to eat ever. If you don't eat a big breakfast before work, god speed. You won't get a break or food until you get off, no matter how much you ask. The managers are slave drivers and you get paid pennies.
The managers are very abusive to server support, especially when they have a backlog of dishes and have no help late at night

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees like you treat your guests
Stop pandering to guests as much, they can live with you telling them no
Give your employees, especially winners circle, breaks
Be nice to your server support. Don't yell at them when they need to finish their dishes, help them instead
    Don't abuse your employees
    Literally do anything nice wow
