    Pros

Great benefits, great location. Employees are nice.

    Cons

No accountability for product delivery & Ownership. Executive leadership doesn't support change, the individual trying to make a change gets push back.

Frequent firing. Lack of communication from management.

    Advice to Management

Need change in leadership. Need to hold employees accountable to progress and deliver products on time to market.

I worked at David Jones part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They provide good training. Good HR to choose talented people but I felt negative points are too much and I prefer to leave!

    Cons

Terrible shifts( part-time 5 days 4-5hrs each), Overworking, low staff and you have to go everywhere and do everything! Some staff are really bossy and they give you their works!! They have sort of staff discount but I prefer to buy cheaper things anywhere else because still their products are exy! For part-time worker just $20.60!

I worked at David Jones part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    lovely merchandise to sell
    staff discount

    Cons

too many changes in store management in less than a year.
no communication between staff and store management.
in experience store management team, very unfriendly
not replacing staff that left, we are not able to provide David Jones shopping experience.
In my department, we have had three managers in less than a year. The present manager should not been given the job, she is never in the shop floor always in her office. The department I worked in should have a manager who can be on the floor like the first two. The pay is just above award rate not great.

    Advice to Management

treat the staff on the shop floor as human being, not just a person there to make profit for DJ. Why staff leave for they are not happy with working environment. Employ management teams member that are suited to the job,

I have been working at David Jones part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Usually good, friendly co-workers
Can get good sales on top of discounts
Variety of things to do at DJ's

    Cons

Well regularly not having enough staff is the biggest. As someone who had been unemployed, this makes me quite mad as we could give several people a job and ease the workload on everyone else but we don't. It makes it quite hard to do the several different aspects of your job, and take your breaks at the same time. People complain to me and I can't do anything about it. The low pay doesn't help either (not getting penalties for saturdays and only 1.5 for sunday).

    Advice to Management

Ease up on the cards and budget (staff have enough to do, not everyone feels comfortable and hitting those targets is unrealistic), praise your staff for hard work and doing well and make sure staff are properly trained when starting out.

    Pros

Staff discounts were great and the location was at the city hence making travel very convienient.

    Cons

Managers are very aggressive, they lack staff so they give you a lot of workload

    Advice to Management

Hire more consistent staff as most of the areas were understaffed during peak season
