    Negative Outlook

I worked at Davis Hospital and Medical Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some pros are that scheduling is somewhat flexible and it's easy to get to off the freeway.

    Cons

This is a for-profit hospital owned by some of the physicians. As such, upper management and HR are never going to be on your side as an employee about anything. I had been working there for two years, and once I got my Bachelors degree and accompany certification, they started me at only a few dollars more than what I was making as a tech with zero experience, even though I'd been doing the equivalent work for two years. The pay is a separate issue, in that they easily pay the least of any healthcare facility in the area besides Ogden Clinic. Management will not do anything about employees that have been there for a long time that create hostile or unwelcoming atmospheres. In my time here, we went from 6 employees working the night shift down to two because corporate won't allow them to hire more techs. This has forced me to work 8 nights of 10+ hour shifts with no lunch breaks due to the sheer volume of work required on my shift. At one time I had applied for a lateral transfer to a separate shift within the hospital and management had told me I had got the job, only to find out a month later they actually had no plans to move me over while I struggled to maintain a balance between work and finishing school to earn my Bachelors.

I worked at Davis Hospital and Medical Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Co workers easy to get along with, They have good teamwork on the unit. Other RNs and CNAs are always willing to help you out.

    Cons

Supervisors have poor communication. Poor orientation. Too many people in upper management that don't know what each other is doing.

    Advice to Management

Make it about the employees, Keep them happy, by not being understaffed. Need better communication skills. Everyone needs to be on the same page.

    Pros

Great work environment. My co-workers were very friendly. The hospital does its best to take care of its employees.

    Cons

Late hours, working weekends and holidays. But that's what you get when you work in the medical field.
