I have been working at Davis Vision full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

2 weeks vacation, all paid holidays, 6 personal days, 10 sick days a year. All paid. Double time and a half if you work the day after Thanksgiving. Double time and a half if you work a half day on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. Weekends off. Unlimited overtime potential at time and a half. If you want to work 44 hours in a week, fine. If you want to work 60 hours in a week, also fine. If you just want to work your...

    Cons

    - You can't have your cell phone out. - People steal lunches out of the fridge so you need to bring an insulated bag and keep your lunch at your desk. - Promotions go by seniority, not necessarily who would be best at the job. So you have to wait for your turn.

    Advice to Management

Everything is working out pretty well in this location. Nothing is perfect, but I do plan on working here as long as possible.

I have been working at Davis Vision full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Free Vision, Low cost dental.

    Cons

    - management is poor and a majority is unsupportive - quantity over quality - misinformation due to benefit interpretation - guideline representatives (majority) are rude and don’t teach. They talk down to you.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees as people, not a number. Consider the lives people have outside of your company.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to work with the union instead of fighting with them.

I have been working at Davis Vision full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

The company offers a lot of overtime in their Call Center, they offer plenty of paid time off in the form of vacation time, holidays, personal time and sick time, Call Center positions are union positions.

    Cons

There is favoritism, not enough time is given off the phone to resolve customer issues and there is too much management turnover, which has resulted in a deteriorating company culture.

    Advice to Management

Put your money where your mouth is. You all want to lead by example so show your employees how to handle difficult customers on the phone by letting them listen to calls handled by supervisors instead of just being overly critical and nitpick at everything they say to a customer. Also, focus on quality, instead of quantity. Management does not seem to care about resolving customer issues in an efficient way. All they...

I worked at Davis Vision full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Made alot of friends there. You can never feel out of place there, people of all ages. Job was quick to pick up.

    Cons

Customers are allowed to call you names and be very rude to you. They can say what ever they want and you have to take it. Most managers could care less about staff, they do their own thing.

I worked at Davis Vision full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Only positive thing about this company is paid holiday days off, free vision insurnace, and it's a set scheduled, (m-f).

    Cons

Ever since Davis vision got bought out by the owner of pf cheng. Things went down hill. It was used to be "quality over quantity" but now it's "quanity over quality". You have super visiors that micromanage their associates. And getting time off is a joke. It's impossible to use your 5 personal days during the year and vacation when you want to. Moving up with the company is impossible as well. Balancing work and personal...

    Pros

If you like overtime, it's offered every Saturday. Other than that, there is not many pros with this company.

    Cons

We have internal representatives who are also in the call center called "guideline" and these "guideline" representatives are there for us customer service reps when we have a question that we are unsure of or if we need to have an exception made for a member, etc. There's about 10 guideline representatives and about 7 out of the 10 guideline representatives are very rude, you go to ask them a question and they cut you...

    Pros

The union and the vision benefits are amazing!

    Cons

Health insurance sucks! To some management you are just a number, not a person. I got lucky with an amazing supervisor who cares about my well being.

    Advice to Management

Think about a work - home adjustment. Treat your employees as people!
