I have been working at Dawn Foods full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Dawn creates a positive work environment where employees are encouraged to create, innovate and invest in the future of this amazing company. Employees are treated like family members and I truly enjoy coming to work everyday. My coworkers are all fantastic and I genuinely feel a connection to them and the organization as a whole.

    Cons

Would love to see the continued emphasis on internal development and really embrace the idea of cultivating our own talent.

    Advice to Management

Stay the course! There will be bumps along the way but as long as we stay true to our Mission we will be in great shape.

I worked at Dawn Foods full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Awesome team members, good benefits, great potential industry.

    Cons

Sadly becoming a toxic environment in certain departments due to new leadership that does not care about people and has accelerated loss of company family oriented culture. People skills lacking...

    Advice to Management

Company culture is disappearing! Whichever new culture you decide to have for future (positive or negative one) needs to be aligned with your goals. Perform truly confidential reviews on upper/middle mgmt and listen to team members. You are loosing great talent (specially young ones) and you will not be able to attract the best in future if you continue building bad reputation... and long time great employees are getting older.

I have been working at Dawn Foods full-time

    Pros

    My coworkers are the best!

    Cons

The drama level continues to get worse. Instead of having a conversation with someone about an issue, it is easier to tell everyone else what happened so they can tell everyone else. It takes leadership courage to pick up the phone and have that conversation and deal with the concern. This company has lost that capability, with the Home Office being the worst offenders.

    Advice to Management

Get your heads out of your butts and look around. Your employees are leaving and will continue to leave until you start LISTENING and MAKING REAL CHANGES.

    Lack of communication.
Little to no room for to advance.
Always cutting people and leaving the workload for the other workers.

    Advice to Management

Sell the company while it still worth something.

I worked at Dawn Foods full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Pay is "OK" and time off policy is good

    Cons

Managers, stifling culture, ideas are not welcomed

    Advice to Management

Specifically related to the distribution center, everything is micromanaged and favoritism was the norm. The "open door policy" of the managers is anything but. Office Staff was lead to believe that salaries were competitive in the market though no one is allowed to discuss them. Managers are not open to any new ideas -- and there are a LOT of managers. Complete conformity is all that is valued. Length of employment tenure is NOT appreciated.

I have been working at Dawn Foods full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

benefits , pay , some co workers

    Cons

poor management to many people doing the same job that overlap. They have no respect for there employees. Going over to the Sysco form of management . Bring on a bunch of new salespeople with no real plan for them

    Advice to Management

need to decide if you want to be in the distrubition business at all. The company was forced into distribution business by a large bakery distributor that was going broke on the east coast ( There Largest customer) they had to take over or lose a great deal of money . decide your in it for the long hall or not !!

    Pros

Still has a mall Business feel to it

    Cons

Turnover is high, I had 3 years of outstanding management, the same person. but the last 3 years (was pot marked with 4 different Bosses), and their abilities to lead/manage/support went from bad to much worse.

    Advice to Management

Invest back into the machinery at our Plants. The Company got burned by not having the right people empowered to run their own Projects. The result is putting in Equipment not suitable for the job.
