I worked at Daybreak Venture full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I was able to start this position with no prior knowledge. My direct manager was extremely helpful. I was not micromanaged, and was able to suggest changes that I thought need to be made. My team worked really well together.

    Cons

Professional is not word I would use to describe this company. I have witnessed doors being slammed on multiple occasions, obscenities being screamed at people, and inappropriate behavior across the board.

Those who care about employees have no ability to make changes, and those who can make changes don't care. Employees are allowed to stick around when they bring no benefit to the company.

The company recently went through big changes, and people were brought in that were previous employees of the company. These changes have caused the majority of the corporate staff to have a lot of fear about whether or not they will have a job. They are also paying these people $1,000,000.00+ a year for their "services" when they can't afford to pay their bills or their staff. I have nothing but good things to say about the previous CEO, Mr. Rich. He was a little over the top for my personality, but he knew the job and he cared about his staff and residents.

This company treats the staff at their facilities like crap. Benefits for corporate staff are expensive, and benefits for facility staff are non existent.

The corporate office is like being back in high school again. Everyone gossips about each other, and it gets in the way of being productive.

    Advice to Management

Realize the worth in your staff, and give them a reason to stick around and work hard for you. Stop with the drama, and get rid of the people who perpetuate it.

I worked at Daybreak Venture full-time

    Pros

clean considering it's a very old building

    Cons

Bad administration and nursing. The facility could be better if they got a whole new nurse management/director department. There is no accountability, if you do wrong they either look the other way or you get a slap on the wrist with a soft towel.

    Advice to Management

Do your job for the sake of the patients
Get rid of directors and find better ones that work well with other staff... not like the control freaks and lazy ones you have now who take a smoke break every hour.

I have been working at Daybreak Venture part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They allow staff's pets to come to work for "therapy dogs"

    Cons

My full time coworkers have had their hours and vacation reduced. Hours are based on current caseload, up if full caseload, down if caseload down--but NEVER any overtime allowed when really busy, but cut your hours when not as busy. To top that, vacation time is now linked to total hours worked per year, not a given amount for full time employees, so if during the previous year your hours were cut due to lower caseload at times, then not only do you have less income for that pay period, but also when it comes to how many hours of vacation you have for the next year, your vacation time is also cut. No wonder the company cannot keep staff!

    Advice to Management

Take care of your staff well and you will not have to spend so much money on training new staff over and over--they will want to stay.
