I have been working at Daymark Recovery Services full-time

    Pros

Experience working with individuals, groups and families. Learning to conduct PCPs, CCAs, treatment plans. Paid trainings,CEUS, clinical supervision and flexible hours. Serving both MH and SA populations. Get your hours and your training as this place is comprehensive in learning the field for both LPC-As and LCSW-As

    Cons

High Turn over rate with employees, low salary, no formal training to do the actual work-more learn as you go. Too much case management and other tedious work-NCTOPPS, discharges, etc

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, we are the one performing these task and duties. We know what works...a leader knows how to listen and implement. Also a leader is only as good as the people behind them-trust the people you hired. Loyalty is also a nice asset; stop kissing tail. All money is not good money; we should not have to accept everything.

    Pros

Staff at Wilkes Center were amazing. Loved working there. Pay was better than other agencies. Work-life balance at Wilkes Center was great. Decent benefits, paid holidays, paid supervision and continuing ed. Eligible for public service loan forgiveness program. Hires provisionally licensed clinicians.

    Cons

The overall organization is pretty disorganized. Moving between sites was a nightmare. Tight-fisted with money; clinicians are still not well-paid despite being the main revenue producers. In certain sites, the push for productivity eclipses ethics and best practices. HR is distant and inaccessible with poor response times (if they do respond) to questions not filtered through a supervisor. Voicing concerns to HR is likely to result in no change, at best. Poor concern for supervisory staff that bully or abuse power. Contract for repaying licensure supervision costs serves as a trap to young professionals. Some sites pile on excessive work/documentation and expect staff to work until it is all done under the umbrella excuse of staff being salaried.

    Advice to Management

Make HR more accessible Increase base pay and raises, particularly for clinicians Restructure for better organization Speak with non-supervisory staff about workplace environment/culture Provide better training to supervisory staff about appropriate workplace management and attitude Restructure so that hiring clinicians isn't such a trap. Complete regular compliance reviews to ensure ethical and legal practices by all sites.

    Pros

Staff like family. Treating my client and watching them get better

    Cons

Doing crisis in community and paperwork that goes with it. Have a k it in my stomach when made to do crisis without any training.

    Advice to Management

Listen to staff when over and over staff member is asking not to do something they are not trained to do and are threatened with their job.

    Pros

Great staff, management of Center flexible with your work schedule, great place to obtain experience.

    Cons

Never any raises EVER, failure of upper management to recognize staff who do not bring in a profit (even though this is a not for profit institution).

    Advice to Management

Realize that all members of your staff are important to the team.

I worked at Daymark Recovery Services full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Never dull. Exposure to a myriad of clients and crisis situations. Opportunity to lead group therapy and conduct individual therapy. Decent training opportunities. Supervision provided. Looks great on your resume.

    Cons

Low pay, exposure to occasionally dangerous clients, institutional flaws and high clinician turnover. This is a stressful job that doesn’t pay enough to keep fully licensed clinicians. Therefore, it’s a training ground for associate clinicians who move on once they get their full licensure.

    Advice to Management

Increase pay to market rate of medical social workers.

I have been working at Daymark Recovery Services full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great work family, team morale high. Lots of flexibility and the management seems to care about employees. Flexible hours but crisis call and client needs can call for some demanding days. Good for people just starting for training and licensure support. Company cars, trainings for job and professional growth.

    Cons

Lots of paperwork that always seems to increase and never be streamlined down. Crisis can sometimes be tough but with a good team that's proactive it's not bad. Pay should be better- lots of turnover possible due to pay limitations

    Advice to Management

Learn to pay employees well. It is a lot harder to rehire and train new employees that takes several months to catch on. This causes a lot of demand on current members that can lead to more burn out and therefore more turnover
