    Pros

    Very LGBT friendly
Decent office space and IT support
Most teaching spaces are level access
    Campus is fairly compact
Students that are willing to engage in creative teaching

    Cons

    Poor IT in classrooms
    Virtually impenetrable workload model
Very poor teaching support and preparation time
    Huge administrative workload
Poor administrative support for academic staff
Difficult to change curriculum even where changes are needed
Disproportionately large bureaucracy - even for the HE sector

    Advice to Management

Reduce the unending bureaucracy. Work out organisational priorities and values and act in line with these, rather than attempting to do everything all at once. Consider actually using the motivation theories taught in the business school with staff, rather than command and control style of management which works poorly with a professional workforce.

I worked at De Montfort University part-time

    Pros

Very flexible and able to accommodate to specific needs which was important seeing as I was studying full-time as well, pleasant atmosphere

    Cons

I think overall DMU needs to work on better administration and internal communication

    Advice to Management

Improving administration and internal communication as this was often falling below expected standard

    Pros

Friendly people with an amazing attitude towards their staff. There is a strong sense of collegiality amongst the academics.

    Cons

I enjoyed working for DMU. I cannot think of any cons which would discourage me from recommending this University to others.

    Pros

Been here just under a year, all sorts of characters work here. No nastiness, no gossip, everyone works hard / plays hard. This is no place for workshys - they don't last long anyway. You have the odd moan during peak periods but that's as bad as it gets. Great atmosphere. I feel happy and comfortable coming into work. The CEO is a positive driving force for DMU, and that re-assures me that there will always be opportunities to progress. Depending on where you work, facilities really are very good for staff.

    Cons

None so far! I'm happy here.

    Advice to Management

    Better pay for admin staff.

    Pros

Amazing support from the team, supervisor and academic staff. being a staff as well as student at the same time is challenging but my team's support and personal tutor have made this possible through their support and motivation.

    Cons

    I haven't experienced any yet.

    Pros

Dynamic university that is developing a great new campus with vibrant atmosphere. Genuinely nice people work there, and the contact with colleagues is one reason I am working part time after retirement. The calibre of student midwives is the other reason.

    Cons

Parking problems are an issue for me.

    Advice to Management

Part time claim forms could be revised to make the sessions easier to fill in. Try and create some more parking spaces (no - a bus is not an option for me).

I worked at De Montfort University part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexibility - they really cater to your needs when studying, which I found important. Wide range of roles available

    Cons

The administration of Frontrunners is quite badly run, numerous times I had to point out the mistakes which wouldn't be fixed even after that

    Advice to Management

To update records frequently and if mistakes are pointed out by the employees
