Overall role review
Jun 15, 2019 - Emergency Department TechnicianRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
A lot of minority health professionals and allied health support employees in the Emergency Department.
Cons
Work environment can be toxic due to unprofessionalism amongst some of the colleagues and management in the Emergency Department. Management does not hold badly behaved staff who are not performing optimally on the job, gossiping/rude/bully’s/vindictive.

The schedule was very flexible. Especially while I was in nursing school.
Cons
The safety culture was very poor. Management in the ICU was HORRIBLE. There was a lot of favoritism and lateral violence unfortunately. The hospital had a very high turn over rate.

Apr 22, 2019 - Patient Access Representative in Decatur, GARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
This company is not an awful place to work. The best thing to do is start out in one area and try and develop yourself as much as you can. Do not become stagnant and complacent in your current profession.
Cons
There is a lot of minutiae between the different departments.

The actual employees of DeKalb were wonderful. Great teamwork, especially in the ICU.
Cons
Support from upper management was often lacking, even from direct supervisors. The new management of Emory will likely be very helpful.
