I have been working at DeVry University full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good work environment, good flexibility, hours are perfect, pay is good for what the job entails.

    Cons

Management structure can be hit or miss. They are good when the region does well, but when things start to get shaky, they completely turn to code red mode. There seems to be no middle ground and minimal ability to adjust

I worked at DeVry University full-time

    Pros

The work environment is positive and supportive. Everyone acts as a team and there are opportunities for growth.

    Cons

Because it was a large corporate department, initiatives could be slow to get off the ground. Or they could be insanely quick. There wasn’t a lot of in between.

Say it's one price then students find out later it's double if not triple in some cases

    Doesn't Recommend

    Approves of CEO

I have been working at DeVry University full-time

    Pros

The people and atmosphere is amazing. Benefits are something you don’t see very often, making it very difficult to leave if you are not happy. Plenty of opportunity for growth if you are willing to stick it out long enough

    Cons

Micromanagement is so bad that it makes the workday very stressful. Sometimes the focus on numbers is so bad, that it makes people fearful of their job being taken from them. In admissions, you are a cold-call solicitor.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at DeVry University full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Not sure if this benefit has changed but I was able to get a degree basically for free, some charges like books and student fees. Family members got a good discount too!
The people I worked with were all awesome at what they did and how they treated the students.
The pay was good, especially when salaries are lower in my area compared to other parts where the school has open locations.

    Cons

Hard to move up in the company. Favoritism at its finest when opening were available. When layoffs happened, extra work was given to those still there but salaries didn't reflect the extra tasks assigned to the roles. Campuses were closed due to restructuring but it wasnt based on the success of the campus, but based on "other" things that weren't mentioned nor explained.

    Advice to Management

Pay your people what they are worth, it's cheaper to keep them then to start new. Students prefer to have the same faces and voices take care of them, thus turnover can hurt the bottomline because you're unwilling to compensate your folks.
