I have been working at Dead River Company full-time

    Pros

Excellent benefits and work place stability. Overall a good place to work with opportunity to grow technical skills. Genuine commitment to safety.

    Cons

The hourly wages themselves are below market value. Despite a reasonable total compensatory package, the hourly low. Also yearly increases oftern time fall below cost of living or insurance adjustments

    Advice to Management

Continue to empower your employees to grow and focus on the customer. Allowing employees increased communication with each other fosters morale as well as grows the knowledge base of the team.

    Pros

Friendly company. Not micro managers generally.

    Cons

There was a real lack of professional management. From upper HR who were very nice but lacking in HR background and thus a depth of knowledge, DM's were from the good old boy/girl school and also lacking in any management experience depth. They had no experience outside the company to call on when anything non routine came up. Store managers similar situation, no background to call upon. No management bench strength.

    Advice to Management

Promotion from within is great but at some point there needs to be some professionals added to the mix to bring new knowledge and experiences to the company. District Manager and store manager pay was way below market.
