I have been working at Dealer Inspire full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Opportunities are endless! I think this is the perfect job if you are looking for growth. This company is growing so fast, and has a truly engaged executive team that is looking for rising stars! I know they listen to suggestions and ideas for growth. I will say nothing is handed to you, and if you are looking for a job where management will come to you with an opportunity, this isn't the place. You need to talk...

    Cons

I think if you are working hard but don't have a big voice and championing your own achievements they get lost. I think this is a good lesson to learn and is something you have to learn at any company.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to everyone on your team, please don't just let the loudest win.

I have been working at Dealer Inspire full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The potential to learn at this company is very high. It's a great first job for a recent college graduate but not for anyone more experienced who might be looking for better compensation.

    Cons

Ever since we got bought out by Cars.com, lots of things have been taken away from the employees including paid extra support sessions and Christmas/peer-to-peer cash bonuses. Numbers and metrics are also becoming the main focus of the company, which in turn is causing the quality of our work to go down, motivation to waver, and employees and clients alike to quit or terminate their contracts.

    Advice to Management

Don't forget to reward your loyal and long-time employees for helping be a part of this rapid growth. Monetary rewards are always appreciated and help to booster morale way more than just giving people gift cards or T-shirts.

      Pros

DI is consistently on top of their game, whether it is with new technology, apps, SEO practices, or website development. If you are willing to work hard there is a lot of opportunities to grow individually and within the company. Management is also mostly transparent and always willing to lend a hand in any situation.

      Cons

There is a bit of a cap in terms of pay bumps and such.

      Advice to Management

Stay strong in your goals for the next year. Continue to listen to the employees requests and act upon their needs. Training is an invisible benefit that pays incredible dividends to DI as well as each employee.

I worked at Dealer Inspire full-time for more than a year

      Pros

      - Great place to start and grow your skills out of college. - Lots of food & drink available. Snacks, pizza oven & kegs of beer/kombucha. - Summit is enjoyable and helpful (though they only do it once a year now, it used to be more often). - Work from home flexibility. - People ops instead of HR, and you can tell they genuinely care about employee concerns. - Very LGBTQ friendly. - Many women in leadership...

      Cons

      - Pay is noncompetitive. Raises are very minimal, even with a promotion. - Opportunities for internal growth, whether it is moving up or even laterally, are not as open as advertised if you're not a schmoozer. Hard work goes generally unnoticed, beyond a 'good job' on Slack. - Can be very cliquey. Many people are friendly, but many won't give you the time of day for no apparent reason, especially if you haven't been...

      Advice to Management

      - Show hard-working employees more appreciation other than a pat on the back. - Implement better rules of conduct on Slack so that it is a less hostile and demanding environment. - Pay people what they're worth. - Let people focus on their work and have some privacy. That's how productivity and creativity flows.

        Pros

Overall great company with some very talented folks. They do a great job of listening to their team members and putting things into action.

        Cons

Work/life balance is very challenging at times, but that is expected from a company that is growing as fast as DI.

I have been working at Dealer Inspire full-time for more than 3 years

        Pros

The Dealer Inspire culture is top notch. There is a modern work atmosphere coupled with intelligent, friendly employees driven to provide the best possible service to their customers. The company shows an obvious investment in its employees and the community with events like InspireU (a nonprofit marketing campaign challenge) and ReFuel (a TedX like event focused on life inspiration). There is always a challenge waiting...

        Cons

The "move fast" mentality can leave employees in a bit of a lurch as they switch gears to what the new target entails. Maturing from a startup to an enterprise leaves processes in a bit of a half state. New employees may expect more on-the-job training than they receive. The workforce is very young overall, which may be awkward for those who did not grow up up in the social media age.

        Advice to Management

Continue with the process improvements and organizational streamlining. Don't forget that employees expect to see the five tenets embodied by the company as much as other employees.

        Pros

Amazing people and culture, had a great experience here. Since I've left the organization I continue to keep in contact with everyone and made tons of friends at this organization. One of the best, if not the best organization I've worked at due to the people. The CEO is representative of this culture as it's very family oriented.

        Cons

Some of the process or lack of thereof and infrastructure was built for a smaller startup organization. As the company grew or really blown up in the past few year, a good problem to have really, scalability hasn't kept up. I feel the term is really under-utilized if anything and as anyone can tell you "scalability" is hard, not just at DI.

        Advice to Management

There are some committees in place. Part of the solution, with having so many talented individuals is to free them up - some call it the 10% time such as Google, to continue to innovate and also fix some of the internal problems. We implement A/B tests all the time with clients right? I think it's important to implement the same tests with the way we do business - the Lean Startup. Last but not least, plan ahead. I think...
