I worked at Dealermatch full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's too bad it got sucked into Manheim. Best place I've ever worked for!!

    Cons

See above, becoming part of Manheim, then a vAuto product was disappointing.

    Advice to Management

It's hard to move a battleship

I worked at Dealermatch full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Start-up atmosphere.
Founders had a passion for the solution we built.
Team environment with a common goal.

    Cons

    Poor choices on management hires.
    Lack of accountability throughout.
Over-hired in hopes of higher projected growth than what was realistic.

    Advice to Management

Take a step back and look at the solution that was built and help grow the company in a way that was beneficial to both the company and the customers. The "we'll take anyone who is willing to join" approach was doomed from the start. Sad end to what should have been a fantastic company. Donkey will live forever!

    Pros

Good times, the company was run by Manhiem owned by cox. The management was real cool. Money was being made and management was not afraid to give spiffs.

    Cons

Closed dow to early. Manhiem felt like Dealermatch was too much competition for the inlane money. We got a notice one day that the company is shutting down...that's it.

    Advice to Management

No advice to give, they're all at new jobs now.

I have been working at Dealermatch full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Start up, SaaS, never a dull moment when you deal with auto dealers. Senior leadership was amazing, all in a positive way.

    Cons

Never really solved our problem of engaging custoemrs post sale. The accounting department was always struggling with collections, payroll, or just communicating with sales and engagement. Lots of issues with a final solution of software that should have been a one stop solution...but really had to be supported with otehr solutions.

    Advice to Management

Stay away from software nerds designing what they think a dealer wants.

    Cons

Could not facilitate services to the auto dealers.

    Pros

There are non...Company is going under.

    Cons

The ego of one man DRB single handed screwed the company by choosing to building the site for customers that the company didn't have versus making the site better and keeping the paying customers. This came for the mouth of your team Genius.

    Advice to Management

Refresh your resume, you'll be out of a job by the end of the year

    I worked at Dealermatch full-time

    Pros

The possibility for what the company could become is the only drawl here, though you find out real quick that the likely hood of this start up succeeding are slim.

    Cons

Favoritism by management. Management has no experience managing others and it shows in the performance of the employees. All stress with zero reward. They lie and tell you that the compensation is worth it at this start up, but in the end, no one hits the unrealistic goals set by management; therefore, no one makes any $. They allow for employees to utilize and eat up there rolodex with lies about a product that does not do what they say and once your rolodex is used up, they are done with you.

    Advice to Management

Change your management staff and improve your customer service, so you can stop receiving so many cancellations.

    Pros

Thinking hard of the pros, but having trouble. Issued stock that matures in 36 months so hopes of things developing with a positive outcome.

    Cons

Sales management does not have management experience and it shows in the leadership. No collaboration amongst sales teams. The leadership consist of "go sell, what did you sell, what will you sell" The commission payout is built around numbers that 1) have not been achieved consistently over a 60 day period, 2) the rolling average of the entire team is not at the payout levels 3) discard the top performer and the worst performer and the average is still not at the payout they want you to achieve.

    Advice to Management

Survey your team (survey monkey) and get a better understanding of what they feel
