I worked at Dealertrack full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Not much to share. A balance between work and meeting need to consider.

    Cons

Struggling with agile. Everyone is the same, everyone is going to all meeting and nobody responsible exactly what they need to do. Everything is for the team. The result, nobody cares.

    Advice to Management

give the employee more freedom to do what they want. Management should focus on productivity and quality only.

I have been working at Dealertrack full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Now under Cox Automotive family. Great benefits, 5 weeks off, immediate vesting in 401k.

    Cons

A lot if key positions moved out of state. Corp will not hesitate to let people go for cheaper salaries in cities like Kansas city

    Advice to Management

Invest in your people, give them peace of mind in job stability and your turnover will decrease.

I have been working at Dealertrack full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Friendly team
"Flexible" schedule (but more on this in the Cons section)

    Cons

    1.) Under a microscope.
2.) Proclivity to hire people on H1 visa, then over work and underpay them. This has the added "benefit" of driving down employ salaries
3.) People with families are told that as long as their work is done, your schedule can be flexible, but the reality is far different.
4.) Management does not take the time to understand the needs of their staff - then they will make unrealistic promises to clients, and are somehow surprised when deadlines aren't met.
    5.) Ever declining benefits.
6.) Team members are generally good, but the increasing toxicity in the working environment is beginning to cause friction.
7.) Promotion beyond a single level is rare. Promotions happen, but not in a meaningful way. If someone is hired in a particular position, you'd better be comfortable with it.

    Advice to Management

With the exception of benefits, the Cons have nothing to do with the Cox Automotive acquisition. My advice: Listen to your staffs needs. Raise salary expectations on new hires. Stop hiring college kids that cannot navigate enterprise level code. Give generous raises/bonuses to get morale back on track. Take a long hard look at current state of software development and understand that the missed deadlines and bad morale is a direct result of the people in charge and take effect to get the train back on track.

I worked at Dealertrack (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Was very innovative in auto finance space with solutions for auto dealers.

    Cons

Taken over by Cox Automotive at the end of 2015. Company decimated into a division of Cox run out of Atlanta. A mere remnant of its former self. Little to no autonomy.

    Advice to Management

Senor management made fortunes on takeover. Employees not so much.
