I have been working at Dealertrack full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great teamwork atmosphere at Dealertrack.

    Cons

Wages/Salaries could be higher to keep employees from looking elsewhere for employment.

I have been working at Dealertrack full-time

    Pros

Training is very formal with meetings, audits, signatures.
Office facilities are new and nice.
Work is shared among team creating a low stress environment.
People seem to be able to move up.
    Fun atmosphere.

    Cons

    Turnaround rate was crazy high.
Sometimes communication is wonky--one person will tell you to do something different than the last person.
Sharing desk space or constantly moving between work stations disrupts work flow.

I have been working at Dealertrack full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Entry Level Job
    No experience needed
    Certain management listens
Part time and Full time available for those who want to pursue further education

    Cons

Had to start through temp agency
Not a lot of opportunity to move up without extensive experience
    Management unable make enough changes
    Pay

    Advice to Management

Upper management seems unwilling or unable to help execute changes brought upon by our direct superiors. There are great ideas even at the bottom of the totem pole, but with the notion that things will fall upon deaf ears morale plummets and affects employees and the whole team.

    Pros

Great PTO, Gym reimbursement, Benefits are pretty good

    Cons

Not a very secure time to work here. Lots of layoffs

    Advice to Management

Goals and growth expectancy need to be reasonable or layoffs will happen too often.

I have been working at Dealertrack full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I have GREAT benefits and I get paid really well. I also really like my team members.

    Cons

HR couldn't care less about their employees. It also recently came to our attention that the leaders of the company LIED to their managers, who then shared false information with their team members about the placement of a hiring freeze. There was never a hiring freeze. They are just limiting everyone's career progress for reasons they do not deem us worthy to know.

    Advice to Management

Be more transparent. Give your employees the opportunities you promised them. Relax your grip on what you call "quality" of calls.

I have been working at Dealertrack full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - new state of the art facility that's easy to get to in Long Island.
    - Although it's a large enterprise, company is for the most part eager to change and doesn't get too caught up in corporate politics/hierarchy. (For the most part)!
    - The people at Dealertrack specifically are great. I love my team members and seem to get along with everyone.
    - Happy work/life balance. As long as I am transparent when I need time off and the work is getting done, hours are pretty flexible. I also have the ability to work from home on Fridays.

    Cons

    - Now that Cox Enterprises has acquired us, there's been a lot of layoffs in the last few years. The biggest one yet is happening now. Sad thing is, we were 5% ahead of revenue. But because we weren't at the projected 9% revenue growth, they are cutting 950 employees and another 200+ voluntarily left with an early retirement package. We made profit, we operated well and made revenue. But they can't keep up with their costs or investments so the people are the ones hit the hardest. The C-suite gets to sleep comfortably at night, with their mega salaries though!
    - Company is pushing for drive and innovation, but even as Product Manager, a lot seems to come in via our client requests and top-down. I don't have a chance to be creative because my backlog is always piling up with these types of requests.
    - I also don't have a chance to be innovative because we're constantly downgrading and laying off people. I need more resources or else my team is only going to be able to support and maintain the product....

    Advice to Management

You're never going to reach innovation if you don't give managers a chance to be creative or provide enough resources for getting the job done.

I have been working at Dealertrack full-time

    Pros

Everyone is very pleasant to work with.
Being part of a large organization allows you to have room to grow.

    Cons

    Poor communication from management.
Currently seems like there is an undefined organizational plan for some departments.

    Advice to Management

Communicate to those who report to you.

I have been working at Dealertrack full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Make my own schedule to see clients; team is all remote.

    Cons

Expectations from management for the pay is way out of line. There's no recognition for a job well done. Just had a huge lay off. COX is cutting expenses like crazy. I'll be lucky to see a pay increase this year. Moral is low. There is no room for advancement if you are in the field.

    Advice to Management

Moral is low. If you want to keep the really good employees, you need to pay them for their efforts and recognize success. Managers are inexperienced and bogged down with too many administrative tasks to focus, manage and mentor they teams.
