    Pros

The company been bought out by Cox Automotive. It got a good benifit plan with RRSP contribution.

    Cons

    - Software Engineering Managers are Micro Managing the scrum teams.

    - Software Engineers and QAs are always working over time due to work load (without any compensation). No work life balance. No appreciation for all the extra work.

    - The company does not have any type of mentorship program for career growth. Therefore you will be stuck in your role.

    Advice to Management

Stop blaming SEs and QAs for all production related issues (RCA).

    Pros

Great supervisors, very helpful company culture.

    Cons

Could feel lonely out in the field at times. Onboarding process could be improved training wise.

I have been working at Dealertrack full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Mature process, new technologies (AWS, Micro-services, Angular 2, etc....). The culture is really great, a good support to the engineering process. Honest and insightful leadership.

    Cons

The only downside is our split campus. Something that will be corrected soon with a new building we hope.

    Advice to Management

Keep on as we are. The merger with Cox is good and will produce great things for us.

I have been working at Dealertrack full-time

    Pros

The leadership is very supportive and open to ideas. The culture and the people really make this place incredible.

    Cons

With the Cox Acquisition there have been some expected growing pains, but nothing too crazy. If anything, they enhanced the culture and provided better benefits.

I have been working at Dealertrack full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Friendly team
"Flexible" schedule (but more on this in the Cons section)

    Cons

    1.) Under a microscope.
2.) Proclivity to hire people on H1 visa, then over work and underpay them. This has the added "benefit" of driving down employ salaries
3.) People with families are told that as long as their work is done, your schedule can be flexible, but the reality is far different.
4.) Management does not take the time to understand the needs of their staff - then they will make unrealistic promises to clients, and are somehow surprised when deadlines aren't met.
    5.) Ever declining benefits.
6.) Team members are generally good, but the increasing toxicity in the working environment is beginning to cause friction.
7.) Promotion beyond a single level is rare. Promotions happen, but not in a meaningful way. If someone is hired in a particular position, you'd better be comfortable with it.

    Advice to Management

With the exception of benefits, the Cons have nothing to do with the Cox Automotive acquisition. My advice: Listen to your staffs needs. Raise salary expectations on new hires. Stop hiring college kids that cannot navigate enterprise level code. Give generous raises/bonuses to get morale back on track. Take a long hard look at current state of software development and understand that the missed deadlines and bad morale is a direct result of the people in charge and take effect to get the train back on track.

I have been working at Dealertrack full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They talk the talk . Pleasant people. Nicer facilities. Trusts engineers enough to allow them work from home 1 day a week.

    Cons

They don't walk the walk. Very much a sweat shop run by a bunch of micromanaging Dilbert bosses. The tech stack changes all the time . The Agile process is way broken.

    Advice to Management

Just fire everyone on the programming staff over 50 since you want to get rid of them anyway. Live up to the phony stuff you are spouting about work life balance, career and the future of the technology.

I have been working at Dealertrack full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Management listens to team and the company is constantly evolving. Just the right team sizes. Nice campus. Most important thing is all teams are easy to work with.

    Cons

Working with people out of state can be difficult. Seems hard to line up priorities across different business units. Could buy nicer computers. Need more local help desk people.

    Advice to Management

    Keep innovating
