I have been working at Dealertrack full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Vacation, flexible time, location with a new nice building, benefits, especially for those who worked for COX before its acquisition of Dealertrack

    Cons

Negative signs and flaws that used to be in the company before became stronger trends after the last few acquisitions, particularly after merging with Dealer.com, and even more after being engrossed by COX: past and upcoming lay offs didn't add any good to it.
Low morale, continuous disappointment and diminishing trust between management and employees, nice slogans but poor actions, big promises but nothing behind it, servility before bosses, undisguised favoritism that is not based on work results but on the way some people present themselves to management, grouping in fear to lose a job, always telling the management what they want to hear, not the reality, great boast - small roast, not keeping valuable workers yet bragging how much the company cherish its employee - that has become a joke. By the way, losing knowledgeable and experienced people is exactly what causes the company big losses. New hires care only about paycheck, benefits, good image instead of good work results, and not about the product and its value.

    Advice to Management

The company has become too big to manage its branches successfully so the local offices are allodial entities to their princelings who are in most cases fed only with good news.
Ineffective management and groundless favoritism causes the experienced staff turnover but it doesn't seem to be a concern to anybody

I have been working at Dealertrack full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

There are some really good folks who are committed to the success of the organization.

    Cons

Besides those some good folks the rest of the people are a mixed bag. Some engineers fear no repercussions and feel safe giving their 80%. There is no sense of urgency at the bottom level. The Directors either don't have the pulse of their team, or are not competent to improve things, or have their hand tied because of their seniors.
It's sad that there is a sense that the new building will somehow solve things here.
It's very difficult for them to attract good talent due to poor pay and compensation.

    Advice to Management

Shake things up a little. Sit with the team. Understand what makes them tick. If nothing does then get rid of the dead weight since the disease may spread to other people who have intentions to make an impact.

I worked at Dealertrack (Less than a year)

    Pros

Not many pros this would be a job necessary if you are desperate for immediate quick money

    Cons

Poor management and Supervisors are very picky and will call you out on natural mistakes , it seems they want you to work like a robot to meet their quotas but don't care about the condition of the employees
/Low Pay / No benefits / No Advancement Opportunities

    Advice to Management

Look to rehire caring and responsible supervisors
Listen to your team members who actually put the work out
Not a depressed supervisor with personal problems who wants to take it out on employees and treat them less than what they are

I have been working at Dealertrack full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice pay, flexible PTO time scheduling, plenty of opportunities for overtime.

    Cons

No room for advancement in the company, constantly busy, too much work for not enough employees. Company on a "hiring pause" at our busiest time of the year.

    Advice to Management

Hire more people, and offer room for promotions and raises. This would reduce the stress of your employees if you hire more people, and get more work done in a timely manner. Offering promotions/raises will drastically reduce the turnover rate.
