    I worked at Deb Shops (More than a year)

    Pros

    It was just like any other retail position, however you got a 40% discount.

    I had shabby hours, management was always changing.

    I wish you guys would've done better.

    I worked at Deb Shops part-time

    Pros

    It's a great first job into retail. Dealing with a lot of customers while tasking. Getting to know your customers on a personal level. This company liked to promote within.

    Cons

    Unfortunately with all the promos we had to do in a small amount of time killed us. Didn't have enough payroll to back up all the promo changes and the window changes which hurt the company. There was a change to the logo which didn't have to be done and silly signs that we didn't even bother to use. In the end the company didn't know how to budget the small things.

    Pros

    I liked how quickly you were able to move up in the company.
    The people I worked with were probably the best people I've ever worked with before.

    Cons

    The company didn't know what they were doing half the time. Changing something almost every hour.

    My managers were the best

    I worked at Deb Shops (More than a year)

    Pros

    Friendly coworkers and managers. Pretty decent in-store discount. Was in my local mall so finding food while on break was easy. Fun clothing.

    Cons

    Customers could be troublesome at times: leaving clothes everywhere, leaving the dressing room a mess.

    Advice to Management

    Better screening for employees. We had a few who regularly slacked on the job and stole. But otherwise good people to work with.

    Pros

    New branding, new marketing was good. Product was improving! Believe it was heading in right direction

    Deb needed more time to improve stores, and upgrade stores

    Pros

    The team, I had a great D.M. and was trained to be ready to move up. PTO is very generous, scheduling is pretty flexible.

    Cons

    The amount of tasking can get overwhelming, you work with only one coverage and can have Mark downs then they will throw a sale change and expect it all to be done within a short amount of time while taking care of customers.

    Advice to Management

    It doesn't matter, they are closing all stores.
