I have been working at Deckers Brands full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company seems to understand the necessity to have a work/life balance, they simply have not acheived it. A few of the people are a joy to be around.

    Cons

High turnover, lack of defined process for almost anything, large amount of people that will backstab and throw you under the bus in a heartbeat.

    Advice to Management

There are too many of you. About 10% of you are competent, the rest are just there with their feet kicked up completely full of themselves.

I worked at Deckers Brands full-time

    Pros

Fast in Hiring. Went through 3 interviews with the department head, HR and director, got brought on board within a month.

    Cons

Fast in firing. Their lack of experience of training people, the incompetence of their department head. Had a very manipulative trainer who did not know how to train you, instead everything you did became wrong. Instead of giving you a little bit more time to learn everything, they fired you in 3 weeks. Among those 3 week I was sitting with different departments for 2 weeks so I really had been "trained" for a week, then they decided you were not a good fit and fired you.

    Advice to Management

Give people more time to learn your company, your culture, your system etc. before you made that cold blooded decision.

    Pros

employee discount if you got one, bonus if you got one

    Cons

poor communication from management. Evaluations are not given continuously, more is expected of us each day and management is never happy with the results. Lack of training.

    Advice to Management

Set some expectations for new employees coming in, train them well and they will make you successful. Executive management needs to pay more attention to the front line employees and what they do for Deckers Outdoor Corp, respect your employees.

    Pros

30 percent off in store purchase and 50 percent plus 20 percent (not 70%) for online purchase to be honest after the discount there is nothing good about working for this company

    Cons

at the ugg australia store in woodbury you see many people come and go. its a small store where you only need about 20 people including management. the store manager and assistant manager are very disrespectful. the office door is paper thin so when they speak about people you can hear the whole converstation. its very sad. they are very unhappy people who work there and caused one assistant manager to quit and from the time i started up until today 13 people have quit. because of the way management treated them.

    Advice to Management

learn to treat people better and give them more respect. if you have a problem with someones work dont talk about them to regular employees just tell that person directly.

    Pros

Good boot. reasonable paid and hours. Great people. Very slow during non peak times. Very creative work environment and flexible execution standards

    Cons

Management treats people poorly. Very disrespectful, and unprofessional. Upper level management has no clue. HR is not there to help you, but to protect the brand.

    Advice to Management

Spend money investing into the infrastructure of your stores. Change field level management. Try to keep good talent when you have it. Increase the level of talent running your stores, invest in professional training for your teams.

    Pros

    Staff discount
    Modern office space
    Good location
    Global perspective on brand

    Cons

-No development scheme for staffs/Talent management simply does not exist
-Promotion depends how you manage upwards and seems to happen only for senior management
-Worst HR department I have ever come across, no support and complete lack of empathy
Advertising for my position 2 weeks after I was made redundant is almost comical and is a reflection of Deckers' weak management. Lucky I was snapped up by a very good organisation within days of redundancy
