    Pros

I have been an employee for over a year, and this company takes care of its employees and is growing in this challenging economy.

    Cons

Not really any big downsides. Nothing worth complaining about anyway

    Advice to Management

    Carry on.

I worked at Dekker Vacuum Technologies full-time

    Pros

Coworkers that grew to be like family, didn't need to put in a lot of overtime

    Cons

CEO was typically absent, when he was there it caused more issues than helped. His stand-ins typically caused more havoc over the long run and generally created a toxic environment to work. At some point, it largely felt that if you weren't putting the finger on someone, someone else was going to do it to you.

    Advice to Management

Either macro or micro manage the employees. Not both.

I worked at Dekker Vacuum Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A few great people work here. If you enjoy an occasional Christmas Bonus and Grilled food as a perk this is your place. There are opportunities to learn from others.

    Cons

Dishonest, Misleading, Inconsistent, Unreliable management. Unfortunately you will be fed the good word with no follow through on their end. Their expectations of their employees are that of Pharos over Jews in Egypt.

    Advice to Management

Follow through with what you agree to during the hiring process. Show the employees you appreciate their work by monetary gain. Nobody works to hear Someone that works far less tell them Atta boy... Everyone I have ever worked along side has told me they work for monetary gain. Owner should get back to basics and make sure his employee are a part if the Workforce Family and not just Workforce mules.

I worked at Dekker Vacuum Technologies (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent money and benefits for a small company.

    Cons

Upper management is terrible. They are too busy playing golf or hiding in their offices to make any real changes. Too many things are swept under the carpet just to make everything look good when in reality it's a huge mess!

    Advice to Management

Wake up and learn to recognize and appreciate good employees. The overhead for a company of this nature is WAY too high. They should take that as a very serious sign that something is wrong.

I worked at Dekker Vacuum Technologies (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good employees, but the business is run by consultants

    Cons

Ran by consultant, the owner chooses to let him make the major business decisions

    Advice to Management

They need to keep good employees instead of replacing with friends or past workers. The turn over rate is very huge for a small company

    Pros

Professional work environment, training programs, dedication of ownwership.

    Cons

Company needs resource management. Leadership personnel in key fields especially.

    Advice to Management

Don't be afraid to commit to the cost of the resources to get to the next level.

I have been working at Dekker Vacuum Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You get a paycheck and get to go home.

    Cons

Cons? Everything else. Like being in high school. People would go over your head if they had an issue with you. Bigger problem was the upper management would believe it all! Clueless. Furthermore, they considered these "rats" as good employees. I guess it only matters who you eat lunch with.

I worked at Dekker Vacuum Technologies full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They pay was very good and most of my co-workers where very nice people.

The scheduled work hours were perfect, and lunches are an hour long.
Dekker provides paid holidays off; also, the location is extremely convenient.

I think Dekker is recently making some attempts to try to show employee appreciation but they fall very short

    Cons

The biggest challenges of working at Dekker was the scattered training provided and the constant fear of being replaced.
By their actions this is not really an employee oriented company.

The turn-over rate is extremely high. More than a dozen people have been fired or walked out in the last 6 months and this makes if feel as if this is just a place to work ‘for now’ only. A brief work stop on the way to your career is kind of the feeling.

The level of unprofessionalism demonstrated daily is like none I have ever seen before. They will not hesitate to belittle you or discuss errors or other issues in front of everyone instead of pulling you aside for a professional and private conversation.

Your personal information is openly shared and topics that would normally be private are openly discussed. This includes rate of pay, sick-days, personal situations, professional situations, complaints, reviews, addresses and phone numbers.
This is demonstrative of having little or no respect for us as individuals.

    Advice to Management

Listen to all employees equally and nip the negativity in the bud.

Take a look at the turn over rate and really question the causes behind it.

Don't treat employees like they are disposable. We are all replaceable, true, but no one wants it hanging over their heads every minute of every day.

Most employees are not happy, despite what they may say when directly questioned.
Let people have a little personal space, maybe a little natural light - you'd be surprised how much something as simple as daylight, a little bit of space and being trusted can alter an employees outlook.
Also, people talk. Word of crude, unneeded criticisms travel whether they are meant to or not. Especially when the criticism is not constructive - just hurtful.

There are too many non-value added tasks that we must perform -sending out companywide emails every time we make a sale, for instance, or including every employee on an email that only concerns one department.

Overcome the negative atmosphere and give value to the employees' comments, views, thoughts and complaints.

I worked at Dekker Vacuum Technologies full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

One of the biggest pros , was being able to work with the customer , and help direct them with their issues, as well as traveling to different locations to preform training and repairs on their equipment, as well as the establishing a good customer relation.

    Cons

the biggest con, was that the personnel turn over was tremendous , i would have never thought that a well established business as they are would have such a turn over. i left a good job for them only to be there 6 months before they went through their office personnel, unfortunately i was one of them.

    Advice to Management

i am a very dedicated and hard worker needing very little supervision to preform at my best, i follow the rules and the policies established within the company. if given the opportunity, i would make a valuable asset to your organization.
