I worked at Delaware Investments full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good work-life balance due to exceptional PTO from Australian parent company

    Cons

You'll want to use all of that PTO to avoid dealing with the favorite-playing, butt kissing, fake people that lurk here. Not all of them are terrible, there are plenty of intelligent, friendly and professional people working there but they all seem to get the boot eventually. Since 2015, the parent company, Macquarie, has been slowly eliminating all non-core, non-front office positions that are redundancies of the... parent entity. Delaware Investment fund names which until 2016 were "the core essence" of our brand were eliminated... most Philly employees from the Delaware days will soon follow

    Pros

Individuals were nice, good central location.

    Cons

When I was an intern there wasn't a formal internship training program and overall the company didn't seem invested in intern's development.

I have been working at Delaware Investments full-time

    Pros

Great benefit package especially vacation days and maternity leave (16 weeks).

    Cons

Pay not so great. No transparent from upper management and parent company keeps changing their plans and waste employees time. Some people from other departments can act unprofessional or rude. HR department is useless and not helpful. Promotion opportunities and standards are very unconsistent from Dept to Dept and from location to location.

    I worked at Delaware Investments

    Pros

Nicest group of people I've ever worked with. 9-5 is really 9-5.

    Cons

Corporate attitude about contractors is negligent and highly impersonal. Very little possibility to be hired full time.

I worked at Delaware Investments full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Smart co-workers who genuinely have a passion for what they do Interesting work if you're interested in investing/markets Work/Life balance is taken seriously - plenty of PTO is thanks to an Australian parent company Fair compensation

    Cons

Minimal interaction between departments Politics at the senior level was frustrating Felt like management functioned re-actively instead of pro-actively

    Advice to Management

Develop a strategic framework, communicate it, and then take actions consistent with the strategy.
