I have been working at Dell (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very strong company in the desktop environment now adding the largest data storage company worldwide.

    Cons

Unsure of the job stability due to standard merger losses, benefits changes are erratic. Salary confidence at a minimum.

    Advice to Management

Be careful not to outsource/offshore your experience and quality just for the sake of lowering financial outlay.

    Pros

Work from home, benefits are ok but not great, mostly respect my peers but variable. Some decent training on your own, not too much micro managing.

    Cons

Lousy managers/director levels in HR/especially Americas Talent Acq. Loads of favoritism when promoting by the Americas TA leader, she hires/promotes from Perot only regardless of best person for the job. Pay lousy, no raises & minimal bonuses for 3 yrs in a row except for leaders, execs.... shameful!

    Advice to Management

Pay, hire, promote the best people not just who you "like". Get new HR leaders who actually know what they are doing. Sad mgmt structure. Reckless hiring

& how they supposedly manage under performers, they let people slide all the time.
