    Pros

Good Pay with bonus, good environment. The have good ethics training, watching videos with interactive tests. Everyone keeps business above board

    Cons

Too many reorganizations that case work force reductions. There are too many mid level managers that are in meetings all day and not contributing to the bottom line

    Advice to Management

The executive level has been very busy waving the big pen. Now it's time to get back to the basics and give everyone who survived the workforce reductions a direction forward.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

-The Dell name looks great on your resume
    -Great 401k plan
-Work life balance if you have right manager

    Cons

    - Director level and above are aimless.
    - No clear path to move up
    - Horrendous commission percentages. Michael Dell has to find ways to not pay you so he can buy EMC
    - Dell needs their higher margin software to offset loss of core business in hardware. Thus they put huge quotas on everyone's head for very little reward. Definitely on the lower end of OTE in the area.
-Work life balance if you have the wrong manager

    Advice to Management

stop lowering your employee's base pay and telling them to make it up in commission. The OTE is a joke for this area based on the quota given

I worked at Dell full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

We were a software company that was purchased by Dell, a larger company does at first appear to have more stability. We were exposed to and trained on multiple new products. Functions of team expanded. Better in house opportunities for job growth

    Cons

Cons were probably associated with the fact that this was an acquisition. After the first year, over two thirds of the original personnel were laid off, they froze our salary, all incentives were removed, and our workload increased five fold.

    Advice to Management

Have a better plan as to how and why acquisitions occur.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Coworkers are young, energetic, and fast friends, which is nice to have when shizz hits the fan. Made all the hard stuff easier to handle, and most colleagues were usually down to go out after work or for lunch, which was the only thing I looked forward to each day.

    Cons

If you like watching your friends and mentors get fired, and if you enjoy constantly worrying if you will be next, then this is the company for you.

I almost wish I had gotten fired so that I could have taken advantage of the relatively decent severance package, but alas, I just up and left instead.

I worked at Dell (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, fun sales kick off event in Vegas with 5,000 reps and SEs Quarterly quotas instead of monthly like smaller tech companies in the DMV area.

    Cons

Unless your boss retires, gets promoted, or leaves the company, it is almost impossible to move up from mid-management level positions. Most people in a VP/Director role spent so much time waiting to get into that position, they will do anything just to maintain it.

    Advice to Management

    Try to get more visibility
