I worked at Dell full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They give you all the tools needed to do your job well. I made a lot of great connections in my time with Dell. They also grew me as a sales person and expanded my knowledge of the tech world more than I ever though possible.

    Cons

There is not a lot of loyalty. Doesn't matter how long you have been there or what you have done for them for them to fire you without warning. There were a lot of layoffs in my time with them which does not make for a comfortable work environment.

    Pros

Lots of room to network and grow professionally. Great work life balance, with lots of opportunity to work remote or from home.

    Cons

Huge company to navigate. Projects that should take a few months, take a few years, etc.

I worked at Dell full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent starting salary compared to a lot of others places with similar roles. No matter when you hire in you will have vacation to start but it will be prorated. Ability to gain an additional $20k in bonuses/spifs each year.

    Cons

Can be very political depending on dept/who your managers are, especially if you are looking to get promoted. Quotas can be a little ridiculous and almost unattainable at certain times

    Advice to Management

    Stop being so political

I worked at Dell full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent opportunities for professional growth through training programs, some peer networking, strength of newly combined Dell EMC brand.

    Cons

Lack of cross team accountability, camaraderie or support outside of your own immediate circle creates much counter-productive/wasted cycles; limited to no support for identifying mentors and career advancement. Lots of ambiguity

    Advice to Management

Hopeful the coming together of Dell and EMC will not be as seriously segregated as witnessed during these past months.

Finding ways to drive greater employee trust and loyalty would go a long way to break the "Dell is a revolving door" perception amongst A-players.
