    I worked at Dell full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Huge customer base. Desire to succeed. Willing to do what it takes to win.

    Cons

    While the culture was mostly toxic, I was in Enterprise Sales, so I was less effected. Until EMC decided months a huge deal, to pay my commissions at 50% months after they accepted the $20M+ PO. This was AFTER sign off from the CEO on the deal. A company willing to do anything to win, will also screw its employees.

    Advice to Management

    Retire. Also, take better care of your people.

    Pros

    -Good compensation compared with the market in the first entry
    - Lots of internal programs
    - lots of word and excel usage :(
    - exposure

    Cons

    - Regardless they are huge but they have very bad management
    - IT company without internal IT
    - Workplace environment is way behind EMC and similar companies

    Advice to Management

    Try to listen to employees pain points and suggestions because you are not listening

    Room for growth within the company. Great work hours , holiday pay and medical benefits.

    Cons

    Cut throats upper management . It's best to do your job and refrain from trusting upper management.

    I have been working at Dell full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great benefits and respectable salary. Access to resources is good and management is solid. Everyone works hard for the win and colleagues are generally great people.

    Cons

    Selling hardware is very 1990... competition from new business models in IT doesn't seem to be something Dell is prepared for.

    Advice to Management

    Most companies in IT are in transition now as they respond to the cloud, and other market forces that drive different models of purchasing. Time to change the go to market strategy - especially if the company expects to compete at the enterprise level.

    Excellent team work, CEO is fantastic, Dell has great energy, good technology, good work life balance.

    Cons

    bureaucracy, no job promotions, internal politics are terrible, work goes unrecognized, non tech savvy bureaucratic bosses, old school management style.
