I have been working at Deloitte full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The firm spares no expense when it comes to training and improving skills. Lots of opportunities for other projects. Horizontal organizational structure where you are actually encouraged to reach out to PPMDs to network. Having Deloitte on your resume is also a huge boost.

    Cons

The compensation is not as great. You really need to be on your A game when it comes to networking because that's how you get staffed on projects.

I worked at Deloitte full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Excellent market exposure and teaches a lot of corporate lessons. Very well respected name in the industry and great exposure to high profile clients. Good exit options.

    Cons

Grueling work hours with generally toxic big4 culture.

    Advice to Management

Nothing that hasn't been said for the last century.

I worked at Deloitte full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    1. Diverse project opportunities if you're aligned to a more trendy service line (e.g., Customer & Marketing, Strategy & Analytics) 2. Vast networking opportunities - Deloitte is enormous & spans across the globe. 3. Great on the resume coming out of undergraduate. 4. BTA community is social, young, and supportive. 5. Plenty leadership exposure, internally and with clients. 6. Health and well being... benefits are competitive. 7. The rigor nature, and long list of cons of the job, will polish your professional skills and give you thick skin in no time - something that you will carry on to your future jobs and life.

    Cons

    1. BTA's are paid the same regardless of location. For more costly cities such as NY and SF, this is absolutely unreasonable. 2. Work-life balance M-F is non-existent unless you're very lucky. 3. Performance reviews are entirely subjective, not outcome focused. Prepare to suck up for good ratings, and have an assigned counselor (who almost always never works with you) represent you for an entire year of your... work. 4. Most internal tools & processes at the firm feel a decade old. 5. Resource managers are inconsistent in helping you find projects; some let you take control, others staff you on projects without even notifying you. 6. Politics and hierarchy are prevalent on a day to day basis. 7. Mentors and counselors are entirely hit or miss with how helpful they are. 8. Powerpoint will become your best friend. 9. BTA's are often treated like assistants - lunch orders, coffee runs, tedious office tasks, prepare for all of that at any given time. 10. Consulting industry is full of cliques, gossip, and reputation sensitive. 11. If you aren't even close to being a Type-A extrovert, you will not enjoy this job. 12. You're either up, or you're out.

    Advice to Management

Stop dictating old fashioned performance reviews, compensation statements, project expectations, career trajectories, and prominent hierarchies. New grads and young adults have high energy, passions, and innovative ideas - embrace this.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Deloitte full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Great project experience and excellent training in consulting

    Cons

    - Emphasis on depth in one specialized area, and working for multiple partners can be complicated

    Advice to Management

    - Partners should consider providing more effective oversight of how Senior Managers manage the teams, to ensure better teamwork, job satisfaction, and long term success; also, partners should do a more thorough inspection of the coach / counselor process, to identify and address where the proper guidance can be provided on a more consistent basis
