I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They offer you good opportunities to get ahead and advance your career. Work with many different teams and in many different industries. Work with many people your same age.

    Cons

Work life balance can be tough. Work has a lot of travel involved, with travel happening around the country. It can be tough to stay on top of local and personal things.

    Advice to Management

Keep trying to maintain an understanding with employees. It is important to keep communication open between different teams and to make it feel like there is good connection. Learning and development are a large part of this job.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

A lot of great people to work with and constantly learning new things. If you can manage to stay and complete your CPA, you are basically set.

    Cons

Zero work-life balance, especially client dependent. If you get stuck on multiple year-end/out-of-town clients you will begin to slowly lose motivation.

    Advice to Management

    Schedule better

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay, amazing perks, great corporate culture

    Cons

Hours will destroy you. My busy season was 9am-2am some nights. That made my hourly pay less than a McDonalds employee.

    Advice to Management

If you want to retain your people, pay them more.

I have been working at Deloitte (Less than a year)

    Pros

Professional development. Personal growth. Industry experience. Management perspective. Meals are paid for during busy season. Great opportunity to learn from the most talented individuals.

    Cons

Long hours. Interns make more money than staff. Seniors don’t have time to teach. Must learn by failing. No respect as staff.

    Advice to Management

    None.

    Pros

Great work flexibility, good benefits. The best and the brightest work here, and it shows.

    Cons

Just below industry pay. You have to set boundaries as far as how much work you can handle, because they will keep giving it to you until you say you've had enough.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Name value of Deloitte sure doesn't disappoint - even as a first year auditor, the learning curve is steep and you learn the ins and outs of the basic core of a business, how it runs, how it shouldn't run, and have the opportunity to interact with individuals ranging from staff accountant to corporate controller to VP of finance. For anyone with a business/economics/accounting background, this is an awesome start to your career. People on your team are extremely smart individuals who have stayed and are still employed for a reason. Granted, there may be differences of opinion and experiences depending on which client and team you are assigned to.
But it really is what you make of it out of your own career, as no one is going to teach you how to steer your own ship.

Fantastic experience so far, haven't stopped learning, and everyday is a challenge.

    Cons

    Nothing to complain about

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

PTO, PTO , and liberal swipes of the AMEX.

    Cons

    The hours, expectations, and culture.

    Advice to Management

People are more productive when they are happy and working regular hours. The marginal productivity of each employee sharply declines after 8 hours. The company would be better off hiring seasonal employees (i.e., more people, larger teams/staff) during busy season, or even giving employees the option of being hourly.

I worked at Deloitte (More than a year)

    Pros

As with any Big 4 Firm, the experience gained was very valuable to start a career. As an auditor, the work environment was ever changing which was nice. Good culture with a majority of young professionals.

    Cons

Again, as with any Big 4 Firm, the hours, especially during busy season, were less than desirable. Job satisfaction is highly dependent on the other members of your engagement team. Higher than average stress level. More concerned with the bottom line rather than the employees which are responsible for generating Firm revenue.

    Advice to Management

Realistic or not, try to be more considerate of employees and implement ways to reduce the stress level (even if working long hours is ultimately inevitable.
