I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Family leave benefit is amazing and you are surrounded by talented and experienced individuals who can be great mentors. The expectations are high, but my experience is that there are a wealth of tools and individuals in the organization to help you succeed.

    Cons

Work life balance can be a real challenge at any workplace. Deloitte has provided more and more flexible options to practitioners to help create a more sustainable working rhythm. Ownership is on you to set appropriate expectations and boundaries through clear communication with your project teams and leadership to ensure you can avoid burnout.

Ample growth opportunities for those who deserve

    Cons

    Travel
Long work hours, depends on project and its state
    No stock compensation
Not easy to invest in stock, independence & ethics complaince
More delivery oriented than technology & quality oriented

    Advice to Management

Prepare a balance between management skill set and technical skill set. Also make sure someone understand & translate technical resource needs, as they are alot different than an MBA.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Get to do a lot of different, new work in new places. Great exposure to an industry and different careers.

    Cons

Tough work life balance...especially with a family. Long hours and 3-4-5 travel is the norm. Corporate red tape exists and can be frustrating.

    Advice to Management

Be proactive about asking about and offering F&P...don't make your staff come to you.

I worked at Deloitte (Less than a year)

    Pros

Do you making money in a facility with a good coffee maker and nice colleagues stuck in the same predicament? Do you like clean, warm restrooms? There's a nice cafeteria on site and food trucks once a month.

    Cons

If you enjoy a low hourly rate that will demoralize you immediately, Deloitte document review is the place for you. Thirty minute lunch breaks are an excellent way to lose weight. Would you like to know sudden termination without reason by cowardly project managers who outsource firing? How about working in a windowless room? Here licensed attorneys are treated as if they are criminals waiting to find their true calling. Yes, it is as fun as it sounds.

    Advice to Management

If you are going to get rid of someone, do them the common courtesy of doing it so face to face. Do not act as if everything was fine, leave for the day, and then have someone do your dirty work via email. Here's hoping the legal market improves so that no one has to do this soulless work that makes one wonder why one went to law school so one could sit for hours, trying to make rent and pay bills and student loan payments.

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Every day provided new challenges. Some of the best people on the planet to work with. Fantastic client challenges that will grow you in every way. Constant access to people at every level of the firm. If you can deal with constant travel with unlimited upward mobility then this is the place for you.

    Cons

Too many politics and very rarely were clear expectations set. Very difficult to know the difference between performance ratings. Many policies were not clear and difficult to abide by.

    Advice to Management

Provide better instruction to people across the firm on how to meet or exceed expectations. The understandings varied by project and staff member.
