I have been working at Deloitte full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Colleagues are helpful and supportive. Work is flexible. You master your own destiny.

    Cons

Mastering your own destiny requires a certain type of mindset to really make the most of that cultural approach.

    Advice to Management

Be more hands on with new starters from industry.

I worked at Deloitte full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There is always work to be done.
The offices are often bright with lots of windows

    Cons

The people are quite snooty in certain departments and offices, even down to some jobs.
There is very little 'down time' and you are expected to work even when on sick leave.
Quite cliquey so very difficult if you're not joining with a bunch of other people.
    Boring (audit most definitely)
HR do not help. At all.

    Advice to Management

Have a more active role in the workings of the offices, chat to your staff.
Get a HR department that actually work and get back to you within a relevant time frame.
More support for new joiners and apprentices

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Large year group, easy to make friends
Designated time off for study leave - however you must sit 3 exams in one go
Learn a lot in 3 years chance to progress management skills by default

    Cons

Extremely long hours - worked out less than minimum wages when quantified
Expectation to travel little/no consideration for your work life balance
Senior management team disliked by those lower down, they seem to have forgotten what it was like to be an associate
Stressful environment felt by all, but no one dare speak up for fear of being weak
They have a Christmas award called the 'Dolly Parton' - actively seek to shame people who want a normal work life balance
Culture of staying late for the sake of it, fear of being seen as slacking

    Advice to Management

The culture and working hours demoralise staff. The staff turnover is high and majority of people leave at the end of their training contract for a reason. Hire more staff to lighten the load to all. Senior management need to be more understanding about the pressures they put on people and remember what it was like to juggle work load, exams, a personal life.

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people to work with. A very open culture, where you are the owner of your own career. There are no restrictions on the type of work you can do (e.g. grade, experience), if you want to be involved in a project you generally can.

    Cons

Deloitte make money from charging employee's time, therefore you can work long hours. Also a very money driven firm, you will spend a lot of time issuing and then chasing invoices.

    Advice to Management

Put the client first and everything else will follow.
