I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

You have access to a lot of people and information if you are willing to learn and work hard. The benefits are great. Great for your resume!

    Cons

A big challenge is US staff are having a harder time developing skills from learning the nuts and bolts of engagements due to managers being forced to send a large amount of work to Indian Staff. Because you are forced to use Indian staff engagements are often improperly staffed, and of course all of this is done without the client knowing the extent of it. Seniors, Managers, and Senior managers leave creating a vacuum of properly trained less senior staff to replace them.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your managers, they are the ones bearing the burden of poor staffing decisions being made by upper management.

    Best-in-class professional development and training

    Warm, friendly, collegial culture

    Cons

    Heavy travel; long hours
Occasionally must take staff augmentation roles at client organizations

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Brand name is probably the main reason I'd work here. Because of the brand you can have a chance to work on different projects and get a diverse experience. For the most part, if you're in advisory, it's likely that all your projects will have some relation to accounting.

    Cons

Employees are not well compensated. The only way you'd get a raise at this firm is if you were to threaten to quite or have an offer from somewhere else. Merit and great work is typically reward with more work. Your compensation at the firm will not be significantly different from your average peers if your an over-achiever.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees like actual people. Reward people that actually deserve it.

    Cons

IT industry, so work here only if you intend to.

    Advice to Management

Can do a better job in treating the employees who travel.
