I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Great people culture
    - Loads of work/social events, sports and social clubs etc.
    - Project based work means opportunities to work on different things
    - Made great friends who I socialize with outside of work
    - Management a good job at recognizing work/life balances and respecting your life outside work, although long hours at times when required
    - Senior management very approachable and friendly
    - Lots of smart and engaged colleagues

    Cons

    - Like all firms, some degree of favoritism, how popular you are/get your face in front of people vs. the actual quality of work you deliver
    - Some work/projects can be a bit boring/monotonous, feels like waste of very intelligent staff
    - Long hours when project calls for it (not too often though)
    - Not a truly global firm due to independent partnership model, depending on department not as much opportunity for transfer/travel as you might be made believe - although this may change with the recent merging to Deloitte North West Europe.
    - Pay is below what the calibre of people could earn elsewhere in increasingly competitive talent market, lots of people staying due to liking the culture/people and the strength of the brand

    Advice to Management

Be aware of favoritism, seeing someone's face a lot doesn't necessarily equate to them being an insightful/impactful worker all the time.
While some projects may bring in big revenues be aware of the impact on staff due to nature of the work. Highly capable staff may become demotivated and end up under-performing if they feel underutilized & that their work is not challenging or impactful.
