I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good place to develop your career and gain experience
Management recognizes your performance and give due appreciation whether through promotion, bonuses, salary increases, etc.

    Cons

Sometimes work can be very busy
A lot of trainings not relevant to my job
No specific standard or policy for employees to get promoted - have a staff with bad performance but still get promoted (I wonder why?)

    Advice to Management

Tailor trainings to employee's needs - should only be relevant to them.
Have morr objective standards or policy to qualify persons to get promoted

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Chance to work on major projects for big name clients. Lots of social events.

    Cons

Recruiters raved about how it was such a great place to work. On day one we were shown lots of fancy videos telling us how great it is to work at Deloitte. On day two I was sent out to client and the reality hit.

Work is micro-managed and ridiculously over resourced. Too many devs, PMs, architects etc working on simple projects. Overtime is the norm, not the exception. I had to do overtime in week one.

Weird corporate obsession with career progression, wanting people to discard technical skills in favour of management skills.

    Advice to Management

Tone down the great place to work material. Get better at project management.

I worked at Deloitte as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

It is flexible. There is all something different and the work is never mundane. You get to meet many interesting and inspiring people.

    Cons

You can be thrown in to the deep end. The work can be very challenging at times. Long working hours.

    Pros

Market rate salary, free fruit, nice people

    Cons

Long hours, no encouragement, work life balance

    Advice to Management

Start praising the lower employees more

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    The people make the projects.

    Cons

Unappreciated, overworked, under paid. If you are an experienced hire you are generally forgotten about. No induction into the business. Thrown into over scoped and under staffed projects with the sole purpose of making the partners as much revenue as possible. They preach a good work/life balance but this is nonsense. The only way to progress in the company is to either go in at the graduate programme and work up or work crazy hours which still may not result in much. I would not recommend Deloitte as an experienced hire.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate your staff for the work they do and empathise that some people are unable to work until 9pm every night.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It was supposed to be a good company...after few good client wins, now they don't care about staff.

    Cons

Clear racism at work. Attitude towards Chinese staff is especially awful.
Audit quality they deliver to clients are not great.

    Advice to Management

They need to understand that what ever they gain is through their people.... all they sell is service of their staff. With high turnover of your key staff, you can't deliver.

    Try to keep people.
