I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great pay scales, well being benefits, PTO's, Learning opertunities

    Cons

Job security of Project based hires seems to be not so good as they will not get any bench time and it depends on immediate redeployment opportunity

    Advice to Management

I will be great if Project based employees get enough bench time for a proper project redeployment.

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great place to learn. You'll be working with smart, efficient, capable people top to bottom. The resources available to employees are great, and offers a range of clients and required skills. The company promotes great life skills, like meeting new people, communication skills, and are fantastic about training their people.

DU is a great experience to both meet new people from across the firm and develop new skills.

They're a large company, but what I've seen work in small teams/business units, so you get a flavor of both.

    Cons

If your leadership team doesn't know you by name, they only have "numbers," like utilization and participation hours to base your review on.

They will let you work as many hours as you let them. During orientation, my instructor said for the past 5 years he hasn't accounted for less than 2500 hours a year, that is an average of more than 48 hrs / every week.

    Advice to Management

Guide the folks looking to develop and mature new ideas into the know-how of how to do that. It fosters an environment of contribution and will grow business down the road.

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Coworkers, technology, the magic "Kool-Aid"

    Cons

Long hours. Tough deadlines. VERY competitive. Taking your earned PTO hurts you. Life/Work Balance is a very skewed scale. More Chiefs than Indians and they want it that way. Reverse Racism. They hire >50/month. Space isn't growing. Where are they all being put? Turnover!

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to what your reports need to succeed. Not what you need to stay in power.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great work-life balance, very flexible
Great tech spot for software engineers looking for a breadth of different projects
Amazing support from the company for health and well being,

    Cons

Experiences can differ depending on the project and your coworkers.
They can only do so much to match market salaries, so it's necessary to move around
Promotions can be based on time or resources vs actual responsibilities

    Advice to Management

Need more transparency on moving up on the tech side vs the consultant path.

    Pros

Great company to work for! The sky is the limit in terms of career growth potential . You are in charge of your career. Free coffee as well.

    Cons

None so far other than 401k can be a lot better.

    Pros

    - Great engineering community to learn from

    Cons

    - Finding things to do during the gaps between projects

I worked at Deloitte as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

    > Rather relaxed work environment, take breaks as you need
    > Good benefits (From what I saw, as a contractor I didn't get those)
    > Good place to build Experience
    > Offers Lots of Training for various roles
    > Work from home or office!
    > Rather well balanced between work and life
    > Do a Decent job of putting high value on their employees, Lots of free meals at work is a plus
    > Good amount of vacation time (not as a contractor of course)

    Cons

    > Somewhat political office environment
    > Required employees to take training in their own fields mid-project at times
    > not the best at budget management regarding contractors
    > Was more difficult to get over-time pay as a contractor than it should have been
    > Noticed on occasion the wrong person would be blamed for a project issue
    > Sometimes issues were kept until the last second, which caused a lot of unnecessary hardship for certain employees (myself included), then would not always be willing to pay the related overtime for the trouble.

    Advice to Management

Try to be a bit more realistic and maybe admit when there are problems more openly.

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

High pay, good benefits, some freedom, some great colleagues/co-workers.

    Cons

Unethical (preach about how ethical they are and make you watch countless CE videos about it) I witnessed my team leader and manager take confidential information directly to other team leads and mangers, totally disregarding the person who bought up the concern. Managers and leads were "clicky", felt like I was back in high school. I guess I was just a bad fit and my project was back at a place I had already worked in the past and didn't care for. I should have my head examined to submitting to the aggressive highering and salary/bonus they threw at me.. My original goal was to be independent consultant, should have stuck to my guns. I ended up rolling off and laying low so I could get out without giving back my bonus. I am better off as an healthcare IT FTE so I can see issues through and make sure the root cause is identified and fixed instead of just patching or dropping issues like Deloitte did for CHI.

    Advice to Management

I am not going to pretend to know how to fix your company, I guess you'll just have to keep losing business until you figure it out yourselves.

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

NONE I did not experience anything positive.

    Cons

Delay in start date - months. The 20k sign on bonus is a trap to keep you for two years, if you leave before two years, you must pay back all 20k. Wrong benefits information given by HR. Can't use vacation because of utilization requirement of 90%. Promise of a high annual bonus that turns into 1/3 of what was promised. Very poor management, they care more about personal growth than success of their employees or the project. Hired to do a job within career path, never did that, was moved to do something I was not hired to do and have not done in 15 years. I could go on, but you get the point.

    Advice to Management

Stick to commercial work. You have no idea what you are doing in DoD environment.

    Pros

Deloitte is a great place to get your career started. You have tons of opportunity to learn from multiple projects.

    Cons

I don't have any cons that are unique to Deloitte.

    Advice to Management

None. Management is fair and they do listen
