The people are what really make a difference at Deloitte. They are smart, hard working, and willing to help out as much as possible. Work life balance is good, work is challenging, and varied.

    Cons

Low salary compared to some other consultancies.
    Some internal politics between teams

    Advice to Management

Pay your people a bit better

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great place for a recent graduate to gain a solid foundation of experience in accounting and basic business

    Cons

Highly political the higher you go in the organization, compensation is not based on contribution. Large number of "groomed" staff that are given the best opportunities, and no real competition based on performance. Large number of non-client service partners in Wilton and other offices that do not contribute to growth or profitability.

    Pros

You get hired easily in some divisions (e.g. in Audit, or even getting hired in consultancy is easier than Mckinsey, BCG, Baine). The salary is also quite competitive.

    Cons

They gave me their word they would have hired me after my internship (given a good feedback) but, despite having received a very good feedback at the end, eventually I was not hired because "they did not look for juniors in that moment". The result is that I wasted 3 months of my life - silly me to believe the words of a Deloitte Manager. Do not trust them!

Overall there is lots of bureaucracy, zero attention to the person and they do not care about your personal development. The consultancy unit is just a bunch of pri*ks full of themselves, thinking they are better than McKinsey. The hard truth is that McKinsey is miles and miles away from this mess. There are several sub-units of Deloitte Digital (The Garage, Ventures, Studio,...) and nobody knows what each division does exactly. There are 1000s of people with 1000s of different titles and roles, but it is just a big meaningless mess. The only objective is SELLING SOMETHING to the clients, does not matter if it actually adds value to the customer or if Deloitte has the skills to implement the project - the only thing that matters is to sell something.

Advice to potential DELOITTE'S clients: do not buy into their lies, spend something more and go to who really knows how to do their job (Mckinsey, BCG, Baine).

    Advice to Management

Don't promise what you cannot deliver. Stop pretending you are better than McKinsey. Actually think about developing real skills and real people.
